All year long, we welcome new parents and Tripawds in a bittersweet embrace. We're always so happy to have new members, but the reason why they join us is devastating. This is the club nopawdy wants to join.

Most have cancer, some chased one too many cars, a few suffered at the hands of horrible humans, and others came into the world as Tripawds. Despite the tragedy that has befallen them, our Tripawd warriors fight on, and live life to the fullest despite adversity and illness.

Every new member who arrives here serves to remind us about what's really important in life: loving the people around you, and having a good time even when life feels like the pits.

Many of our friends earn their wings far too soon. Their losses reverberate throughout this community, but in the spirit of our Tripawd Warriors, we fight on. With their lessons staying strong in our hearts, we are here to help newcomers, share information, find Tripawds homes, and kick butt to put an end to canine bone cancer.

We salute everyone who has ever shared a story about their Tripawd, joined us in the Forums or in the Chat, and blogged about their beloved Tripawd. Thank you for making Tripawds such a helpful and supportive environment for so many. This community would be nothing without you.

Let us take a moment to honor our heroic Tripawds, their siblings and close friends, who earned their wings this year:

Pawrents, please accept our deepest condolences for your tremendous loss. We are so very sorry.

If your beloved pup's name isn't on here, we sincerely apologize, it was a mistake. All of these heroes were recognized in our Coping with Loss Discussion Forum. We may have accidentally missed the names of beloved pups whose parents only write in their Blog, not in the Forums. Please share their names with us in the comments section below.

Thank you for being here everyone, we look forward to another great year ahead with our Tripawds family.

Fight on, Tripawds, fight on!

The year in memoriam, what a beautiful tribute to our warriors and their pawrents.

We thank you all for being a part of our lives, and reflect with a smile and a tear as we read through the  long list of names.  It hurts to think we lose so many.

As the year comes to a close for us, we're remembering our big guy Ponch who we lost in February. Losing him is what brought us to the tiny tripawd puppy in the shelter. He's also the reason I am in love with pitbulls and have a strong passion for the breed.

He's in good company with all the tripawd heroes and siblings we've lost this year - thank you all for sharing your experiences for the rest of us to learn from!

Thank you for remembering JD.

She benifited so very much when I found Tri-Pawds. With the help and guidance of the pups listed above and the information shared by their pawrents, our last few months together were filled with triumphs, tears and laughter.

Blessings to all who have passed and hugs to the families left behind.

Thank you so much for remembering Gus, at times I still find it hard to believe he is gone, there hasn't been a day I haven't thought about him and I just miss him so much.  I must say I'm quite surprised at how many names are on that list, bummer. That journey would had been so much more difficult without this site and everyone here, I appreciate Jim and Renee for starting it and we look forward to helping others who are already here and anybody who will find this site next year for the same reasons we all found it. Looking forward to a great 2011, Happy New year to all of you, Big Paws up, Spirit Gus and Dan

My buddy Gus had a left front amputation on April 7, 2010 and lived a great life until July 26,2010

Thank you for honoring and remembering Tai. I miss her so much  cry

I read through the list and my heart breaks for all of the wonderful pawrents who have lost their fur kids this year. The Tripawd community is filled with extraordinarily caring people, their support, through good and bad, is truly a blessing. Happy New Year to all of you and may 2011 bring us at least one step closer to stopping this horrible disease.

To all of you who still have pups soldiering on I wish that the good memories out number the bad and that you can enjoy the feel of your pups fur and the warmth of their sloppy kisses for many more months. Peace to all.

God bless Tai and all of the spirit tripawds before and after her.

Laura

Tai – 9 yr old lab. Diagnosed Osteosarcoma Dec 18/09. Front right leg amputated Dec 21/09. Started chemo Jan 7/10. Lung mets discovered Sept 16/10. Valiant to the end on Oct 26/10 when cancer reappeared in a leg and we made the decision to set her free. Forever in my heart where not even cancer can take her from me.

Thank you so much for compiling this Honor List of our 2010 Fallen Tripawd Family Members.

It is indeed a large number for just one calendar year.  As Dan said, the journey we all took would have been so much more difficult to travel without all of you. And as difficult as it is - as family members it is up to us to help those who come after. It's taken me a few months after losing Sophie in July this year to come back here. But - as I said to Jim and Rene recently - there is no place like Tripawds.

We are many members strong - with a wealth of experience and knowledge. The treatment available around the world is as diverse as are the ones this disease takes out. Tripawds family members are strong. We have walked beside, in front of, and often times carried, our companions through this journey. We can make a difference - certainly a bigger difference collectively than alone. Let's kick canine cancer ! Jim and Rene entered that "What do you .com" contest this year - and came close to winning some money. Maybe we could look for some of those kinds of opportunities to capitalize on this year to see just what we could do with all the information we collect through all of our experiences.

.... and, .... stepping away from the soap box ....

Happy New Year to all of the Tripawds.com Family.  Wishing peace to all of you who lost loved ones this past year. It was a difficult year. Welcoming those of you who are new to the Family - we really are an awesome bunch. I'm sorry you had to find us, but you couldn't find anywhere better if you need what we have to offer.

Here comes 2011 everyone. Best wishes to all !

Tana (and Spirits Sophie and Keaton)

HI Jerry,

I read the list twice, so forgive me if I missed his name:

Opie, my laid-back, Grinchy-toed, Frito-foot, Best schwimmer in the world, boy went to the bridge in April, 2010.

I didn't know how to make his name a link…

Also, Peyton went to the bridge in 2009, but it was like the day after Christmas, so I thought I would mention him too, because he and Opie were such good Cyber-friends.

Thanks to all our Spirit Tripawds for enriching our lives beyond imagination and thank you Earthly Tripawds for continuing the fight!

Spirit Opie's Mom

PS:  I miss you Ope.  You were my daemon.  You were forever with me.  Sometimes I think you are still there in the back seat, listening to my constant ramblings and giving me silent advice on life.  I know you are waiting for me at the bridge and I look forward to the day when I can wrap my forepaws around your curly, orange neck and give you an awkward human-hug.  I'll be seeing you, Mr Lovinsky, best dog ever.

Mom

PS  Wish you were here to help me teach Mattie how to be the" best dog ever!"

Thank you for remembering Denali, her spirit was so very bright.  I miss her so much - the house is almost too quiet now a days.  Thank you everybody on the forum for the support you gave us.  I know I haven't been around that much, it's just not that easy to come here.  The circumstances stink - but I'm glad to have met everybody on here!

My search for a new puppy has began.  I know she won't be Denali, but hopefully she'll have some of the same 'spunk' Denali carried.  I'll be sure to share her with you guys when she comes to me.

Hi Jerry,

I was almost afraid to open this but when I did and went through the list, down to the last name (my Mackenzie), it brought tears to my eyes because we all lost a beautfiul tripawd and each and every one of our heroes have made such an impact on our lives.   I'm so grateful beyond words what this community has provided for me and so grateful beyond words with the many friendships that have been formed as a result of this community.  It goes way deeper and only those of us who are members of this community really understand.

It's strange but now I've entered a new club with the loss of Mackenzie - our tripawd angel club.  But how lucky heaven is to be blessed by these beautiful tripawd angels.

Kami

My sweet golden Mackenzie.  She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2  although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home.  She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009.  She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes.  I love you Mackenzie!
