Hey Tracy this sounds like a much improved week for both of you so far! Yay! Of course we'll vote for her, just remind us.
Yes, the extra thirst from the pred will make her urinate more and for some dogs they have accidents in the house. You can prevent nightime potty trips by taking her water up a couple of hours before bed. At least that's what our vet told us when Jerry was on it so you may want to check with yours just in case. But yeah, be on the lookout for the extra urination.
Meanwhile have you seen this post in our Angel Exchange?

OK update as I'm tearing up here big time, trying to make it short but she has improved so much!!!
It was a long week but things seemed ok, Bailey still wasn't eating but did want the water... I'm sure the pred. was causing that. Spent the week using a towel to lift her back end and my daughter would just support the front of the harness... found those balloon bootie things and the x-large are a little snug but it helps her left foot from scraping because it was getting scrapes from the concrete driveway.
OK SO TODAY IS SATURDAY AND SHE HAS BEEN ON THE PRED. SINCE TUESDAY NIGHT ~ a total of 5 days full dosage!
BAILEY WAGGED HER TAIL TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My husband was coming home from shopping for me and I had her sitting out in the yard... harness off... (she tries to get to it and chew the strap she hates it.) Well my husband yells out of his work van when as he stopped in front of our house.... Bailey Girl...... and she had puppy ears and started doing the happy tail! (Not all the way around and it does still hang down) but my husband yells (SHE WAGGED HER TAIL, SHE'S WAGGING HER TAIL!!!) Miss. Bailey then took off to see her daddy and was doing the hop and a little left leg jig but never fell.
Soooo the pred. is working..... paws crossed! <3
I'm feeding her more and more and thinking her weakness was partially our fault because we didn't force the issue with the food and she was living on peanut butter and yogurt even though we offered her everything under the sun. So say a prayer that she just pulled a muscle or something to that left leg and it's heeling.
She started sitting up normal in her sphinx position more yesterday and today she is so alert she even got up on her on and went to the bowl where the water is kept but couldn't stand long enough to drink... she hopped across the great room without any help and with getting up on her own! When she reached the water Bailey was a little shaky and she decided to slide down into her sphinx position.
I can't tell everyone how much of a relief this is. I know everyone on here goes through this but I wasn't giving up on her even though I promised her quality of life... even my husband said himself two weeks ago on that Thursday, Friday before the Labor Day if someone would have been able to come to our home we were going to let her go she was in so much pain... there's our Angel's above us pulling for her.
I love all of you for helping me. You don't know how much of a blessing this is to have a place to come and talk to friends who understand. I apologize that I'm not current on talking to others like I should because I know there's a bunch of our TRI-PAWD FAMILY going through EVERYTHING we are/did or possibly just starting the tri-paw journey. It's a roller coaster just don't stop, keep riding the ups and downs no matter if you feel like you are going to puke!Sorry.... I had to wipe my eyes and that came into my head so, freedom of speech correct!
So basically she has been on the pred. a full 5 days! I pray she continues to get stronger and improves and beat this once again! I have a video from today I'll try to figure out how to put it on here... Jerry help! It's not on my fb, it's on my phone.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Never give up and never look back, keep the FAITH!
Much love and tight hugs!
Tracy and Bailey
(((((SALLY AND JERRY AND ALL THE REST OF THE TRI-PAWS HOLDING ME UP!)))))
P.S. It's Dinnnneeerrrrrr time for Miss. Bailey!
SALLY,
I have a video of her "getting in the "GARAGE" from today... I wasn't quick enough with my phone to catch the tail wag but she did wag her tail back and forth standing still while my husband talked to her from his van but not when she was in the "GARAGE!" It's so cute I have her hopping over to my husband after he gets out of his van... she heads to the grass I guess because she was afraid she was going to fall but then hopped up to the sidewalk! OMG!
Yeah..... she's not just laying on her bed she's actually using that left leg, I see her putting more and more weight on it!
Please, please be the hump that we've climbed over!
I know it's because of you and everyone else.
Love you,
Tracy and Bailey
Yay Bailey, you wagged your tail! Tracy, don't beat yourself up about the food stuff. She probably was really not hungry. One of the benefits of Pred is that it helps increase appetite. So as much as you were trying before, she just did not want food. I read the list of stuff you fixed for her. I am so happy the prednisone seems to be having such a positive effect on her. You keep on waggin that tail Bailey girl! hugs from Lori and Ty

Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.
Tracy - this is SO AWESOME ! Wonderful piece of news from Miss Bailey. You deserved to see that tail wagging, for your dedication and persistence. Praying that tomorrow is an even better day, and that she keeps on eating and drinking more and more to regain her strength.
Big hugs and positive vibes,
Daniela & Johnnie

Thanks so much for the kind words and support. I know we can do this, she's such a fighter. Tonight she actually ate off a fork and I wasn't fast enough so she started eating out of her bowl. It's not kibble yet but hopefully soon so maybe she can put some fat and muscle back on. But she stood a lot today and was laying up right except when she was given her medicine and it's pink elephant time.
I know the vet(acupuncture) doctor is going to be soooo surprised!
Love and tight hugs,
Tracy and Bailey
