THANK YOU JERRY!

MY TRI-PAWD FAMILY IS WONDERFUL!

Baily does a little jig when she walks (she has purple PAWZ for her back feet and sometimes her left foot comes in too close and she steps on the other one, but she's able to keep her balance... STRENGTH BABY!) but she is improving one day at a time... never give up and always keep the FAITH!

With love,

Tracy and Bailey Girl

Love and tight hugs!!!

BELLA!!! Accepty my apologies sweet girl for calling you Sophie!!! Sophie is Atlas's "sister"....another miraculous Great Dane story!!!

I love the visual you painted of Bailey giving you a little growl again! And to tolerate the jarness knowing you are going to take it off....love that!!! All of this is so exciting!

Your faith....simply amazing! And yes, Bailey has some mighty special Angels sending some healing energy her way!

Thank you Sally.

Much love sent your way... pictures of Myrtle please!

Bella would respond to anything I think!  She's a sweetie and if she thinks you are talking to her then watch out... she's on your lap.

Bailey's left leg seems a little bit off again today... could it be the reduction in pred.?  She's actually hopping with them crossed like a "x" at times.  I'm not about to let her fall.

But I do have a question, looking for the amount of food I should feed her?  Today was a open the mouth day she didn't help herself.  Hoping that I'm just imagining things with the leg.

Love and Tight Hugs,

Tracy and Bailey

As far as the Pred. Reduction...it's only been sincenyesterday that she was reduced from two a day to one a day, so she probably still has plenty in her system.
Her tummy probably still can't hold but so much ANd, because she's been bery immobile, she's not going to need the same amount of calories as before, far from it.

Her improvement will probably still have some ups and downs, so I wouldn't be too concerned. She eating.....even if you are hand feeding her AND, it's not just peanut butter!

SENDING TIGHT HUGS RIGHT BACK TO YA'!!! Take care of YOU too!

Sally and Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle too!

I just love all my support.  A quick update... Bailey seems to be getting stronger she's going in circles at night on her bed and she managed to flip over last night.  Yesterday she hopped to her water bowl and drank unassisted and it looks like she's trying to put more weight on that leg.... ohhh guys.... keep praying.  Her appetite has definitely increased but she wants to be fed more so then eating herself.  We made a ramp and put a rubber pad on it so she can get up and down easy without falling... I took a bad spill last week and my arm is still purple but Bailey did not fall!  I think I really see the muscle in her leg???  Not sure if it's my imagination!

But that is all for now... we spend a lot of time in the sunshine, it's fall here in St. Louis and we have had some beautiful weather but it was warm yesterday and today so she didn't want to spend a lot of time out there.

Bailey will get better and jump over this hurdle I just know it!

Love and tight HUGS,

Tracy and Bailey

I'm SOOOO late to this!  I haven't been on in a long time, but when I saw that dearest Bailey had some updates I had to scan.  Wowsiers.  I cannot believe it.  I cannot.  Things were pretty darn scary back there a few weeks.  Like, really scary and sad.  And now, sure she's not out of the woods, but what a turn!  And that video!!!  Oh MY!  OH MY!  Bailey is doing so much better!  I'm passing on loads of good wishes and hugs and Jackson-tail-wags to keep her recovering.  What a path, a road, a journey with her.  OH MY!  Keep on going, Bailey!!!  KEEP ON!!!

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12.  Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ!  No side effects.  We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments.  He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors!  Our love. Our funny little guy!

Well Miss Bailey, you are a ROCK STAR!!!!!! A. R O C K. S T A R!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is just wonderful...unbelievably wonderful!!!! I've been readingnthse recentnposts several times over so I can savor every little morsel of the good news!!!!!

It must do so much for Bailey's emotional well being to be able to do "normal" things like mak circles before laying down....going over to get a drink of water all by her fancy pants self!!

So glad you have a ramp with non-slip rubber on it nwo...for the safety of both of you!

This past Winter we had some ice storms, as well as snow topped with hartd custy sleet.. I would walk ever so carfeully by Happy Hannah's side down the ramp to make sure she wouldn't slip and fall. She would carefully take each step ever so slowly. Of course, I was slipping and falling all of the time. She would just stand still and take that huge sweet mug of hers and cover my face with sobbery kisses until I got up, wagging her wiggly butt like crazy as though she was applauding me for getting up!

Savor every single precious memory Bailey is creating for you right now. You never know which one will bring a huge smile to your face in the future!

I love that Bailey is eating better...even if it is hand feeding....those are such warm fuzzy shared moments!

KEEP ON KEEPING ON BAILEY! We love being in the presence of a ROCK STAR!!!

Well... ever since they reduced the pred. (she was on it 5 days) twice daily to once a day... it seems to be things are going backwards again.  Bailey refuses to get up without assistance and she has the real tears again and laying here tonight breathing fast.  I just gave her two codeine and I'm going back to every 4 hours tonight which my instructions are 4 to 6.  Definitely will call Dr. Snodgrass tomorrow.

I have to explain something it's kind of funny when you see (but sad at the same time.)  When Bailey spins on her bed she is actually down on one side and her only front leg is the leg side up and she pulls around with that leg and re-positions herself.

Just wanting to do the right thing and not keep this up if she's in pain/  I was just rubbing her ears with the Rescue Remedy drops and also rubbed it on her muzzle.  We did spend some time outside today late afternoon because it was pretty warm today.  She's been licking her left foot the one that flips over and I rubbed it with Rescue Remedy (and said a prayer and kissed it!)

She's such a fighter and I really feel she's trying so hard for us.  I wish I could take her pain away.  I even turn the air conditioning way down to freeze zone when she pants thinking that will help (she's just hot... I know that's the way I want to think.)

Katy and Jackson!  It's so good to hear from you.  I'm soooo glad Jackson is doing so well.  He's the inspiration around here!

I'm going back by my girl I will check back later.  Alarm goes off ever 4 hours so sometimes I take a nap when she does even if it's on our blanket in my front yard!  way-cool

Love and tight hugs!

Tracy and Bailey

Karen, thanks for the support and smiles... I need all the support I can get.

One thing I did not know is pred. can cause muscle atrophy (which Dr. Snodgrass explained is a double edge sword) so that is why it was reduced after 5 days...

I don't get it I want her muscle back...

Guys what do we do?
