I am happy to say I still have a little healing to do but I am back to being a couch potatoe. I visited my cousins today who are 7 and 4. They gave me lots of love and attention. My 7 year old cousin Belle told my mom she thinks I am really brave to be on 3 legs. The kids use to be a little afraid of me because I am so big but now they think I am really special and don't need to be afraid of me. Thanks for supporting my mom and I through this. Next is my first chemo treatment Thursday
Titan
Yeay Titan, great news! How fun that you got to see your cousins. Aren't little kids great? They're so much like dogs, in that they just love you for who you are and not what you have or don't have. Every so often a little kid will look at me and not know what to say, but mostly they just come right up and love me. I really like that!
Good luck with the chemo this week. Please let us know how it goes, tell us all about it!
Your friend,
Jerry

Titan had his first round of chemo today. So far so good. I guess they don't usually feel sick from the carbo. They said it would take a couple of days if he does feel any side effects. We are keeping are fingers crossed. He has started using the dog ramp. He goes up no problem but still a little nervous going down. I am so proud of my brave boy.
Heidi
Ooooh, good news! Bet your glad to get that first round over with.
Just curious, do they give you any anti-nausea meds to take home, just in case?
Oh, and learning to use a ramp is a BIG deal! I still don't like to use them. Titan Rocks!

Hi, We’re new to this forum...
Hi Jane & Charlie,
I'm semi-new to this site and
mostly here because I want to support all the pawrents and pups who
have undergone surgery, or who are going through chemo, etc. You will
find that this is thee best website in the world for anyone who has a
dog with cancer, especially those who have undergone amputation of a
limb. I am learning more and more about this disease (I, as a
two-legged human had cancer surgery, but that's not why I'm here)...
it's all about the dogs. Glad you found this site.
Sincerely, Vicki T, Blazer & Kimber

Do you know of any groups who specifically raise money for research on this disease?
Heidi and Titan
Heidi & Titan, you are the best!
I'm still plowing through all these posts about Titan. But, from time
to time I just have to say something! Heidi, you are such a loving,
giving, sweetheart! If I may ask, where is your Realtor business? I'm
just curious as to what part of the country you live in? My dog, cat
& I live in Portland, OR.

Yes I meant seroma I am so fired up about this...
Heidi, Just reading how poorly you have been treated by your vet makes me ill. How dare they play "30 questions" with you in regard to finding the cancer surgeon. I don't know where you live, but I'm glad you found a specialist that can help you. Vets need to remember that it's not just about surgery and drugs, they must respect the feelings of the pawrents, as well. I'm so sorry you had to go through that!

You betcha! Not bad for a dog that was given a 4 month prognosis, eh?
Give Titan our love and speedy recovery wishes.
Jerry
Jerry, I had no idea you only were given a 4 month prognosis, and now it's been 21 months! You are a remarkable dog and your pawrents are the best, too!
