Titan, that is GREAT! Yipee! I knew you could do it. Thanks for letting us know. And yes, when you get that video together, let us know, we'd love to share it with everyone here.

To answer your question about my therapy dog certification. My Mom contaced a local representative from Therapy Dogs International. There are a couple of national groups like TDI that certify dogs, and provide liability insurance, training and support. We lived in a small town, so there weren't any real organized meetings or anything, we were pretty much on our own, visiting care homes. In bigger cities though, some therapy dog groups will get a bunch of dogs together and go to places like libraries, where kids will practice reading to the dogs. It's all cool stuff.

To get certified with any therapy dog group, Titan will need to pass the official AKC Good Citizen Test.

The world definitely needs more therapy dogs, and I know Titan will make a great one!

Your pal,

Jerry

When Titan was 1 and half he failed the good citizen classFrown but he has matured and mellowed since then. I left a message for our dog trainer Friday. She use to show bullmastiffs so she is great with Titan.

I have been asking around about vets and I found one I am interested in meeting with.

Friday Titan had his blood test and I was really disappointed that the vet had the vet tech see him. I told them I was disappointed he didn't want to see Titan's progress. They said I could make an appointment with him. I felt like saying so I can pay for the vet to want to see him and give you MORE money. He didn't see him the last time either when Titan got the rest of his sutures out. I know they are busy but come on! So he hasn't seen Titan since he took the drain out or maybe once after that. Do you  think it is a bad idea to change Titan in the midst of his treatments?

You know when you start getting tired of a boyfriend and everything they do bothers you I am getting to that point. I wanted them to see how he gets up and down the dog ramp. I tried to get the vet tech (who helped me get Titan several times out of the car) to see it. I was near their employee entrance and I think she thought I was trying to come in that way so she pointed to the main entrance. By the way they are right next to each other. Anyway she seemed aggravated I told her I wasn't trying to come in that way I just wanted her to see Titan getting down the ramp. Anyway Titan decided on the way out to take a BIGGGG dump outside the employee entrance on the gravel. I offered to clean it up but they said they would do it. I felt bad for the vet tech who had to clean it up. I told her that I guess Titan was mad that the other tech didn't want to see him get down the ramp. I definately don't think they thought it was funny. I did! I guess the only difference between me and a hockey mom is I am the pitbull who wears lipstick Laughing

Titan,

Personally, I think you need to find a new vet!  A vet should be compassionate and have empathy for you and your pet.  I can understand having a tech take sutures out, but following up on bloodwork and making daily phone calls to check on a major case like that is not too much to ask.

You can go to the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) website and see if they have vets listed in your area, but the best recommendation is word-of-mouth.

Good luck!

I am so sorry that you and Titan have been getting this kind of poor service.  Best of luck on your searching for a better vet.

We heard from our dog trainer. Titan starts the good citizen class Weds night for 6 weeks. Let's hope he has chilled enough to pass this time so we can go for the therapy status.

I got a couple of recommendations for vets I am going to speak with to see if they are right for Titan. The vet tech called today to let me know Titan's CBC results were in and to talk to the oncologist to make sure they were fine. I called back saying the oncologist had already called me Friday night at 7pm to say they looked good. Again frustration why couldn't they call Fri or why didn't our vet at least call.....Yell

Whatever if they can't appreciate Titan we will find someone who will.

P.S. Jerry I am going to order the booties this week in red and the harness. Not sure if you need notice for the booties

You know, Titan's big "dump" may have been his way of telling you and them what he thinks of the service you and he have been given! Laughing

Like, everyone else, I think you need a new vet.  NEVER in my life have I not been able to see a vet when I take my dog in for appointments.  And, to think of what Titan has been through, I would think that damned (pardon the swear word) would break his/her legs to get out there to see how Titan is doing.  My heart just bleeds for you when I hear of the crappy (sorry, another swear word) service you have been getting.  Please, I urge you:  FIND A VET WHO CARES ABOUT YOUR ANIMAL AS MUCH AS YOU DO! (sorry for the big caps).  Tongue out

Pardon me, again.  Is it just my computer, or are Titan's photos just showing up as "red blocks" on everyone else's computer, as well?  I'd like to see the photos, but my computer is not cooperating.

Oh Geeze - When you make an appointment to see the vet......you expect to see the vet.  This guy obviously doesn't care much about Titan or about you as a customer.  Knowing that I would really worry about the quality of the medical care.  Definitely find a new vet and i wouldn't wait.  The oncologist seems more interested in keeping you informed - maybe they can make a recommendation.

Great new pics.  Took Radar a while to get that playdog pose right since the surgery but it's a common sight now LOL.

Hugs to you and Titan

Thanks Titan! Feel free to order the Ruff Wear harness here on the website.

Just email us the shipping address what size booties you need and we'll get you a price for those including shipping. You can then order those via email/paypal since we don't have them for sale on the site yet.

Nope, not just you. We noticed the same thing so we deleted those posts.

Sorry Titan! Try posting the pictures again by pasting in the image URL when using the insert/edit image button. If that's what you tried last time, there may be an incompatibility or time-out issue with Snapfish. My people noticed the image links were reeeeeaaaally long and cryptic.

Either way, let us know what you did/do and we'll try to fix it. If we can.

I right clicked on the pics and went to properties and that's how I got the url address. Hmm it showed up on my computer fine but maybe it's because I am a snapfish member. I will try to use that Flick'r website Rene suggested.

If anyone wants to see pics of me they are in the large breed blog. I had my 2nd round of chemo thursday. The oncologist said I am doing great. My mom is so happy. They gave me anti nauseous pills in case. My mom asked since she did alot of reading about adrio. I am a little tired but other than that I know I will be better again in a few days. My mom and I have been going to the good citizen class to help me become a therapy dog. I don't know if I will pass. My nickname there is Moose. Some female dog about 1.2 my size try to pick a fight with me last week. I tried to show her I wanted to play but she wasn't having it. So I told her hey I got 3 legs bring it on......I am still strong. We got punished and had to lay next to each other for a few minutes. She just tried to keep staring me down maybe she has a crush on me. Anyone one exercise I was suppose to come when called but I noticed some dog left a bunch of cookie crumbs so I stopped to eat them. The trainer told my mom that was the bullmastiff blow off and it wasn't acceptable. I think my mom is going to get me the harness to help keep me in line. I guess then I will be in deep doodoo. I know my mom is thinking if I don't pass she is going to make me go again. She is so determined she wants me to be able to see kids with cancer to cheer them up. I guess she thinks since I am a big goof ball I can help lift their spirits. Keep your paws crossed for me.

Love

Titan!

It is so good to hear from you!  I'm sorry to hear a little dog tried to pick a fight with you; it would seem to me that that dog should leave the class for her bad manners.  Now, what's wrong with wanting to clean up a few cookie chips that some other dog left behind?  I call that, "Good work!", you're keeping the place clean!  You may have to go through the class again, but it will be with different dogs (I hope).  I'm sure you are a very good citizen.  Please keep us posted!

Love, Vicki T & her kids, Blazer & Kimber
