Heidi and Titan

Sorry to hear about your seroma problems and also about the vet, it's so important to have confidence in your vet when facing such extreme difficulties as you are, thank goodness for this site and the abilities to bounce with others in the same situation.  I would have been a basket case (well a worse basket case than I am).

Sending you lots of positive thoughts

He has been walking on his back legs like he is a little drunk. So I am hoping that will get better as well.

Radar did this as well after he pulled a tendon in the rear leg.  Titan may be sore in the rear while adjusting to carry his weight in a different way.  We found with Radar that there was a fine balance between resting the rear legs and him getting exercise to make them stronger.  Titan will let you know when he's tired.  Keep walks short while those legs get stronger.

Hang in there Titan - you're doing great!

Hugs and Scruffles

Next we have to order the harness. I saw the ruffwear master harness

Titan, I'm so glad to hear that you gobbled up the eggs!

The Ruffwear Harness that you saw is the old style that Ruffwear has discontinued. It's a closeout model, and also doesn't include shipping in the price, which is the reason why it's so much less.

While the old one was a good harness to begin with, the new one is a lot more secure and stays put better. The new one is also made with a special fur-resistant fabric so it doesn't get all hairy.

We would be hoppy to send you the old model at that price if you're interested (as long as they're still in stock), plus shipping, if you still want it. Just let us know!

xoxo

Jerry

I would rather go with the newer one. I knew it looked different I just couldn't figure out what by the description. Thanks Jerry.

Connie I am relieved that Radar did the same thing "walking drunk" I know just a little more time things will look even better.

Does anyone know maybe a good website to look at vets? I am still thinking after all this we will eventually switch vets. I have asked around but everyone uses someone different

Unfortunately websites aren't really going to give you any real info about how good a vet is.  Talk to other dog owners in your area about who they go to and ask about their experiences, especially about emergencies and if a vet will spend as much time as your dog needs regardless of their schedule.  You may want to check with your breed's club and see if there are any breeders in your area.  They could refer you to vets familiar with your breed and believe me they will tell it like it is when it comes to quality of care.

When you first visit a new vet, don't be afraid to ask questions and to give your own ideas on things (after all you know your dog best).  You will be able to tell by the responses if this vet is not only going to spend quality time with you and your dog but also whether or not they will take you seriously.

Good luck in your search.  I've had a couple of nightmare vet visits and know what a blessing it is to have found a good one.

So glad we could answer your questions! Also forgot to mention that the newer harness has reflective edging for night safety, which is really great.

Agree with Connie. Good quality boarding kennels are also another great referral source.

Before you visit a potential vet, I suggest doing a "medical resume" of Titan. That way you have his history all right there in front of you at your get-to-know-you visit, so you can ask relevant questions and not forget anything.

We just came across this book, <a href="<a mce_thref="
