Great :)   this really does sound like great news!  What you found on google sounds a lot like what I find when I google "osteosarcoma in cats"...don't get frustrated if you get varying information, just listen to what the docs say, sometimes google can be your worst enemy but it sounds like this is definitely good news!!! YAYAYAYAY BRODY BOY!!!!!!!!!!

Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. And the sigh of relief is heard all over tripawd land! Sometimes...every now and then...someone gets a pretty good hand dealt to them on this crazy journey.....and it looks like CONGRATUALATIONS are in order!

Boy, the story of ot hearing back...out of town...unavailable...no communication...all too familiar! . I actually did try and call the pathol. and they would only send a copy to the vet...or speak to a vet...even though I was the one paying the bill!! Anyway, my regular vet called and got the info. and went over it with me.

You have a great attitude and are giving Brody the best lifepossible!

LOVE the photo of him so comfy on "his" couch!! Happy Hannah disn't lay on her amp side for...gosh...I think it was st least six weeks! That's when I knew for sure she had zero pain and all muscles, etc. were now in sync!

clapclapclap Way to go Brody, you handsome boy!

Hugs!

Sally and Happy Hannah

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

I have a 12 year old female boxer with cancerous tumors and dr is wanting to amputate front left leg up to her shoulder and I was just wondering if their were any other underlying health issues other then leg? I'm a little lost on what to do... and if I should even put her thru that?

Hi Courtney,

I'm sorry you are facing this tough decision. Please start a new topic in our "Presentation Diagnosis Forum Topic"  as this topic is several years old. And while you may feel lost, you are not anymore, we are here for you.

We want to know all about your girl and how we can assist. Yes, it's a tough call especially with an older dog, but if your vet feels she is a good candidate for amputation that is a great sign. For many dogs who are young at heart, age is just a number. Check out our Size and Age Matters Forum topic for some great examples of older dogs who did well on three. And here are some other examples of Boxers who did well as Tripawds:
