Stocky pitties -- how do they do with amputation especially of a hind leg?

Does anyone have experience with heavier/stockier dogs that had a rear hind leg removed? Our dog is a 7 y/o pittie -- short legs but stout at around 70 lbs. She's not particularly overweight but is on the huskier side and that makes me worried that she might not do well with amputation (my partner commented that many of the Tripawd videos we've seen were with skinnier dogs with long legs but no short and stocky dogs).

Many, many dogs of that body type have been Tripawds and done very well. I know it might seem like there aren't any out there when you want so badly to see dogs like yours, but trust me, we've seen plenty over the years! Although breed type and weight does factor in on mobility, it's not something that excludes a dog from surgery. Some examples of bully type Tripawds include:
