Hey all! I'm so excited! I was hacking the forecast for the weekend and am seeing rain for Saturday in Richmond, can anyone closer up there give me a more accurate forecast? I just want to make sure we pack appropriately. Thanks!!

Domino had his left front leg amputate on May 13th 2014 after being hit by a car. He's now living a happy healthy life on three legs :)
As of right now this is the forecast:
Saturday: Low 66, High 83 with a 30% chance of some scattered thunderstorms, humidity is 50%
Sunday: Low 67, High 87 with a 50% chance of evening scattered thunderstorms, humidity is 66%

Hahahaha funny Sally. 🙂
I got my bills all scheduled to be paid tomorrow. No matter how much $ you make it seems like it is never enough LOL.

Meg! Do NOT pull anymore stunts to try and keep your Mom home! Sometimes you have to share good things with others!! 🙂
SAFE TRAVELS MEG!!! Do you have phone numbers, etc to let someone know when you've landed?? Or better yet, make a selfie post when you've la ded on nere!! SOOOOO EXCITING!!! 🙂 🙂
CASSIE! Honest to goodness, this weather has been crazy here and still very unpredictable!! I just looked at three different sources and got three different forecasts!!!
The one Elizabeth quoted is most likely. Nice, but chance of thunderstorms. Dogs and thunderstorms...under a shelter...in a strange place....ought to be real interesting!!!
But really, it has been changing daily, almost hourly.
So we'll go with Michelle's forecast!
BTW, for anyone coming Friday, it looks like it will be the first sunny dry day we've had for weeks! 🙂

thunderstorms?!? And ticks? Oy!!!! Thunder shirt and bug spray for the west coasters!
And that humidity seems manageable ... it will fix my skin!!!
Two days and counting for us and we have yet to pack but we have lists! See y'all soon!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
HAHA....that "humidity" is in the low side for us!! Although, granted, May has been waaaay to rainy!

50% humidity sounds refreshing. We are at 83% today.
Adelaide is a young tripawd Husky, from an injury. Her amp was on 10/1/12. She has 4 sisters, Aissa (a senior border collie/chow), Maggie May (a puppy Great Pyrenees), Mathilde and Morrigan and 1 baby brother, Bagheera. We are all watched over by our angel Brendol, who was dx with OSA 1/30/13, amp on 2/6/13, and left us on 8/20/13.
You can read their stories at http://adelaide.tripawds.com and http://brendol.tripawds.com
50% humidity? 80-odd degrees? I'm doomed. (and spoiled, I admit it.) what does one wear in the rain when it's 85 degrees? a swimming suit?
no real packing accomplished here but I'm notorious for doing that at the last minute anyway.
Sally, you have my cell number. Did you get the rest compiled somewhere/how? wasn't there a google sheet circulating a couple of weeks ago with such information?
Alison, is the thunder shirt for you or Jasper Lilly? I have a picture in my head...
And Sally I would love to hang out on your veranda Friday afternoon. I need to see those vulture babies! The only caveat is if I do or do not sleep at least some on the plane.
My personal vote for pre-pawrty activities is the antique store(s) and playing in the river. I saw something on the Richmond website about tubing? Is that a real possibility? Can you rent tubes somewhere? Bare minimum, it will be necessary to get my feet wet. and food! Must. Eat. My. Body. Weight. (preferably in ice cream)
I finished Isa's ribbon last night for the tribute leash - it's very fancy!
woo-hoo! so excited!
hugs to all,
Teri and angel Isa
Right rear leg amp 7/12/16 due to OSA. Metastatic lesion on her right front leg, January 2017. Joined the Winter Warriors January 19, 2017. Run free my sweet girl.
I highly doubt any tubing would happen this weekend (so sorry Teri)..the water level is high due to all the rain and as of right now they have put tubing in the red "no go" zone. The River that runs through Richmond is class V rapids...but there are plenty of places to put your feet in. We can definitely go there....antiquing, river and food....and then PAWTY at Rockwood! That sounds like a plan.
Is there any food any of you want to try in particular? We are a foodie town...Virginia BBQ? Oysters? Southern fare? We have great ice cream too!! Lots of local breweries (dogs are allowed at most of them I think).
Richmond is a fabulous town, so glad you all want to make the most of it. You all let me know what you want to do/see and I'll make it happen.
Alison, you and Jasper may think you are in an alternate universe!

I need to start packing!! I did at least groom Domino today so y'all won't have to meet smelly Domino. Tonks will get groomed tomorrow. Breweries sound amazing! And food lol. Anywhere my dogs are welcome sound wonderful to me!!

Bummer about the tubing - I forgot about all the rain you've been having. but so long as I can splash around a bit I'll be happy.
BAR-B-QUE!!!!
ICE CREAM!!!!
And I realized this morning I have been in Virgina - Rosyln. But I was really just sleeping there and spent most of my time in DC so I don't think it really and truly counts. and it was a long, long (long) time ago. September. 2001. yeah, fun.

So, I have just arrived in the US of A. And here, Sally, is the requested selfie (a little cruel after an 8 hour flight)
I was absolutely paranoid I wasn't going to get in. And it's true the border control man did seem to regard me with considerable suspicion UNTIL I told him I was going to a meet up for three legged dog and cat parents, whereupon his face broke into the broadest imaginable grin. Welcome to America, he said. I think he may have had the last laugh though as he sent me off for algricultural screening, but once they'd established I didn't have a small black piglet stowed away in my bag (sorry, Elsie) they waved me through. So here I am, currently on the platform of an Smtrak station in Baltimore, but heading ever closer to THE PAWTY!!!!!!!
