Sally,
I am glad to hear the ice cream helped and you understood our intentions❤️

This is greatexclamation Thank you Martha 👏🏻and if I can help Martha please don’t hesitate to ask - let me know. PM me!

Can you spot what's really going on and why this isnt as much of an improvement as it looks like?

To me this one actually looked better to my eyes but that is not saying a lot.

TW, do you have the facility on your tavlet to play video in slow motion? If not, is there maybe an app you could use? I did this when Elsie was limping once and I couldn't tell which leg it was (that's how hard I find it to spot things), but when I slowed it right down, it became much clearer and even I could see.

Thanks Clare if it was not for you, I would not have had a clue on the how to do this THANK YOU ! Thank our Angel Pie for my tutorials;)

Normal Speed just so you can see the exact same clip , Sally I cut it just for the slow motion purposes.

8 X Slow Motion

Slow Motion Reverse

See what Dr Weedle says about these ?

Sally for the record we know you are doing your part 😘

Oh there is our MANNI still helping! That course was really cool Tina you gave me some ideas for home😘
Thanks Angel Manni we miss you buddy (your signature Tina 😥)  I am sticking with mine!winker
Hugs & Love to ALL!

HOLLY!!!  THIS SLOW MOTION IS WONDERFUL!!!!!    Dr Weeele even mentioned she would like to jave seen it in slow motio  and BAM...here it is!!!   I've written her to ask her to check in over here and see if her assessment has changed.   Thanknyou soooo mich for putting this together!!

TINA!!!  MANNI!!!!   TINA!!!  MANNI!!!   First of all, I can't tell you how good it feels...how "normal" it feels...to SEE Manni still here with us!   Manni continues to inspiire and MAKE A DIFFERENCE, even from a differe t "location".  way-coolHis presence is sooooo strong here through you.heart

I don't know if Jerry has these videos "archived" anywhere, but they really are great DIY examples for at hime.  THANK YOU TINA!!  I cant wait for  Dr. Weedle to see them so she can help me customize these for Frankie.

I ALWAYS have to keep jn mind (although I wish I didn't), that every exercise he's doing is with TWO good legs and they MUST stay protected  (hopefully they stay that way well jnto his senior uears)  And I also have to keep in mind that his progess will be at a slower, more cautious pace.

Dr Weedle.projected he would be putting pressure on that leg around the eight week mark and he certainly is!  She IS very pleased with his progress and feels like he's right where he should be considering everything.     I'll update as soon as I get her feedback.

To E V E R Y O N E of you on TEAM FRANKIE...OMD....OMC......YOU ARE OUR MIRACLE!!!

With sincere love and appreciation,

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie

Miss Sally,

I’m sorry it has been a bit longer than I expected to be, but you have been close to me in thought... aw-shucks

First off, I have to say, Frankie has some bloomin good friends... Angel Pie, Meg-a-star and Clare, Spirit Manni and Tina, Purrrrrkins and Holly.... you’re all bloomin’ brilliant!!!

I never would have seen the little ‘kink’ in Frankie’s run if I hadn’t seen the slow mo’ video! Phew, Frankie, you sure have got us all fadoodled!!! Miss Holly and Clare, I hear that Frankie is filing a formal complaint. He said that his friends are not allowed to tell tails!!! 😘

Now Sally i am kinda glad that I was not able to get my reply through to you the other night, I’m sorry, ‘cause it was bloody genius I’m sure of it! But im also not sorry, ‘cause it made me realize that you need to be appreciated for all that you do and then some, but I can’t think of a way to do it and still give you full justice, so i will just have to stick to paper kisses 😘 and tons of love across the miles! See this is what thinking does for me... HhheHhmmmm.... you amaze me each time that you put yourself out there to help sooooo many people and their fur kids. You are present in their time, you listen to their heartfelt stories and you give back heartfelt responses. You take many hours to greet and respond to sooooo many people, and i realize that there are others just as incredible as you are, but none do it with the zest and light hearted humour and millions of typos like you do!! After being with Stewie on this incredible site for 7 months (YES! 7 Months Sally!!) I realize the connections that can be made between people and their fur kids is very real and the toll it can take when being in the moment, like you so often are, is draining both mentallly and spiritually! I soooo appreciate you for being real Sally! I so appreciate you being you and I soooooo appreciate the special time that you take to acknowledge each and every one of us in such a real way!

Sally, I was thinking the other day, after I had read through your little update on Frankie, on a few things... and I don’t really think it has to do with anything really... just making light conversation, you know, like chatting over a cup of charlie ☕️ 😉 😘 so anyway, you know how when you walk by your favourite charity shops ‘cause you probably have a couple right? and you would love to be able to give them a huge amount, knowing that you could solve all their problems, if only you had all the money in the world, but you don’t... so when you have a little extra, you like to add just a little bit to each of your fav’s just ‘cause you know that every little bit helps?? Well, you know, I’m just yappin’ cause that is what I generally like to do...laughing

Massive hugs and snuggles to your beautiful kids. Lot’s of Ruvin from you know who... 😘

Heard back from Dr Weddle (correct spelling).' These are her comments in the slo mo.  She says Frankie's still cheatin'!.   Her comme ts also reference my frustration in trying to do simple home exercises as "one person" because I can't get him to keep the proper form while trying to lead him or whatever.

........In the slow motion video, it still looks like Frankie is leaning into the railing for support to some degree, and you can see a bunny hop when he moves away from it, although he is still partially using his left rear leg and does seem to be improving.

Keep working walking the inclines. Don’t increase reps unless he seems normal 30 minutes after you’re done. Keep working the cushion, sit/stands, and standing front end on your lap. Don’t get too frustrated. Just do the best you can. Even if you can’t see how good his technique is or correct it, he’s still getting some benefit (unless he’s completely cheating it like we’ve seen on some occasions). Certainly he gets more benefit when done correctly, but it can be hard with just one person. That’s why I like to watch while the owner or assistant does the exercises. So again, just do the best you can...........

PS......My dear Petraheart   Don't even know what to say!   OMD!!  Your kind words have me blushing from ear to ear, head ro toe!    I just want to put a mirror in front of you and have these beautiful sentiments read right back to you!!   That's exactly what I see in you and sooooo many others here!!    I have ALL OF YOU as my role models!  way-cool  Still, it was very, very, very sweet of you....heart Whew!!   I just  hope I can live up to one millionth of those accolades!!! 🙂 🙂

Mr. Frankie.. you are about as stubborn as Mr. Mitch ya know..

Sorry it has been a little while, you know Mr. Mitch is taking up a lot of space in my head and in our hands right now. It is a little overwhelming. Working through it though and it looks like all of you are too!

You are still a star Frankie, just try to stop being so bull headed so that you can get around on three properly!  I understand your frustration Sally, it is tough to have dogs that must somehow be kin to bulls, lol. That pigheadedness is also sometimes a blessing. It is part of what helped Frankie transition and be the super dog he is today.

You know everything you are doing is working, it's just taking longer than you thought it would. He is getting stronger! If you look at one of the first videos and then look at now it's an amazing difference. And until Holly slowed it down it was virtually impossible to see that he is still favoring his leg. I know he is giving you a workout too! For a compact dude he is very strong, you can see that when you watch him in motion.

I don't have anything special to add, everybody else here has covered all the bases. I just wanted to tell you that in spite of all the rehab, working, winter, you are still out there helping others and that is truly amazing.    TEAM FRANKIE     is still here in full force, you have your own cheerleading squad here and that will not change. Thank you for everything that you have done for me and my family, I will never forget your support and friendship. Keep on trucking, you are doing a wonderful job heartheart

Sending lots of love and tons of hugs your way!

Geez........trying again.  So below is the email I sent Saint Martha.

If all goes well, the NEXT post will be the email Dr Weddle sent.   Sorry I coue put this all in order and in one cohesive post...not today folks!!

CARING people have been SINCERELY asking what needed to be done to continue to help Frankie, so here we go!! Not sure how much effort it takes to copy/paste to put the following on thr YouCaring site,, but below is a "no-holes-barred" assessment of where "we" are and what needs to be done. It lays things out pretty well.:

So below is the email Dr Weddle sent as far as "best guess" of what would be needed to get Frankie using his legs more equally. Her email was based on the HOPE that he had progressed with at home therapy.before she has her next visit. Not the case though! He clearly is "penalized" by having a "one human 'mature' family"! Poor guy!!

I can DEFINITELY see LACK of progress without the Rehab. UGH. It's quite frustrating because I'm trying to do what I can with at-home- exercises, but without someone guiding him/me constantly by correcting his technique, or his form, as we go through the paces,...well.......he's still relying waaaaay too much on his two "good" legs.

Oh, and she mentions she would prefer to bring her Assistant and incorporate the laser again.....translation: $190

Okay, if all goes well, this will be Dr Weddle's email:

Hi Sally.  I'm  not sure how many more sessions Frankie needs. It really depends on frequency of visits, ability to do exercises between visits, and Frankie’s own healing ability. I feel we need at least two more visits where we increase and add exercises (would also need to be dry weather/dry ground times). Whether or not he is ready for those exercises at the next visit is hard to gauge. Four visits might be a safer bet, done every 2 weeks, but no guarantee.

It would be $145 without the laser and assistant. I was already charging for a 30 minute visit, which is the minimum amount of time for appointment. The majority of the fee is due to travel. We can try without having an assistant, however, I’d strongly recommend having the assistant with me, as it will be more difficult adjusting his technique or introducing other exercise without her. It could end up being dramatically less productive and simply doing what we have already been doing with exercises.

The leg being out is likely to improve as his pain subsides and strength increases. However it can be a bad habit. Continue your assisi loop and medications. Continue ramp walking and cushion walking, increasing laps when he is ready. For sit-stands, have you placed a board by the couch to help keep the leg in? Admittedly, the sit-stands are the hardest to get good technique after acl surgery, often they don’t do it well until 4 months after surgery even though we can sometimes start them at 4 weeks! Cavaletti exercises would help with normal motion at walk and we can try at next visit, but I’ve been hesitant due to his need to hop his front leg over it. Still, we can try and see. Also, we may need to put a weight on the good rear leg to get him to shift more to the left.
