Yea it sounds like the house would be our best option since we'll have all 5 puppers, that may be a bit much for a hotel room lol.

JENNIFER!! YES!! You and Darcy mist ve there.....a d I KNOW MILO will be very present roo!! 🙂 🙂

The original Richmond Tripawd Pawty a couple of years ago was shortly after my beloved Happy Hannah went to the Bridge. I started planning it while she was stil in her earth clothes. So it was a bit bittersweet But she sent me Merry Myrtle a d Ii only had her a couple of weeks and brought her to the awty to represent herself and Happy Hannah.

Darcy will do a SPLENDID job of representing himself and MILO!

Yes, we will have a table at the Dog Park with any momentos, pictures, etc anyone wants to bring of our Spirit Angels. Believe me, they WILL make their presence known!!

Maybe Karen can lpan us the beautiful TRIBUTE LEASH again and we can further ho or ALL our TRIPAWD HEROES...past AND present!

We need some CATS represented! Come onto. the pawty! Even if you can't ring kitty, you can still come!!

And Jen ifer, and anyone with Spiritual Angels, its kind of healing to be surrounded by your family who got to know Milo through thus journey!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

yes... jasper is a quadpawd and she's welcome at the Northern CA gatherings and will be this one too! My tripawd, Shelby, never met any other tripawds but her spirit does guide me daily and will guide us out there to meet the amazing people that supported us!!!

And thank you for the tips about DC and MD for overnights... Jasper travels pretty well but we might come a day early to break up the trip and stay in a hotel and drive in. For us from LA, it's about a 10  - 12 hour travel day which is a bit long for me alone let alone a little dog!

Stay tuned ... we really are going to try and make this work!!! XO

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

We would love to make it, but even I realize driving 8-10 hours, each way, 3 weekends in a row is a bit much!  My son graduates from Virginia Tech on May 12 (woo hoo!), and my other son finishes finals at UMD on May 18 and needs to move out of the dorm by May 19, i.e., needs us and our truck.

(Boston to Blacksburg to Boston to College Park to Boston to Richmond to Boston....tired just typing it!)

Not sure if I can get that weekend off but I will try.  Saturday may be a no go but Sunday and Monday should be ok.

Cookie has been doing physical therapy since Nixon passed and is finally back to her normal, happy self.  She had a psoas injury the last year of Nixon's life and we didn't realize how bad it was until we realized that her lack of enthusiasm was not just depression from losing Nix.

Tex, who you have not met yet, is a giant of a greyhound and social inept but we're working on that.

SOOOOOOO EXCITING!!!!! SOOOOO. EXCITING!!!!!!

I have to laugh....and 11 hr drive is NOT THAT BAD!!! Nkw that's spoken like a true World Traveler!!! And we get to see your tatoos!! YAY!!

And this if for the Virginia area travelers and those coming a bit more from the Western part of Va and maybe Northern Va if the rental houses are a bit too far. Keep in mind though, I don't know squat abput geography or directuons!!

We also have potential lodging ALoft (or TheLoft), dog friendly hotel close to where the Dog Park is.

And Ingrid and Teresa, we will do TWO Dog Park gatherings to accommodate those who can only come for a day trip on Saturday OR Sunday! 🙂 NO ONE GETS LEFT BEHIND!!!

Check out KARMA's GREAT housing arrangements...And a huge THANK YOU TO KARMA for taking the "lodging ball" and running with it!! 🙂

A d a huge THANK YOU TO ELEIZABETH for taking the other "lodging ball" and running with it....as well as checking iut the Short Pump Dog Park!!

Weather in Virginia end of May is GENERALLY upper 70's, low to mid 80's! Very pleasant. Of course, Alison and Jasper Lily may have to wear a sweater!!! 🙂 🙂

SOOOOOOOO. EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL!!! that's the travel day for me and Jasper Lily from LA! We're still trying to figure our best plan of attack - fly to Richmond with plane changes and layovers OR fly direct to DCA and drive 2 hours in. 🙂

I can't wait.

Just to let everyone know that the houses are pretty much full at this point.  But feel free to look in the area at https://www.vrbo.com/   This is where we found the houses and dog friendly ones.    Plus the hotel is a great option.  We just had a few dogs that were barky and didn't feel comfortable with them in the hotel is why we went this route.

I don't want to leave anyone out but we are busting at the seams and only so many dogs can stay at each house.

I got my tickets, car is reserved.  Just to make one payment and all is good to go here.  I can't wait to see everyone in May.

hugs

THA KS MICHELL!! If this worst problem we have is finding proper housing because we have SOOOOO MANY COMING....THAT'S A SPECTACULAR PROBLEM TO HAVE!!!

But it really won't be a problem at all! We've got lots of dog friendly botels here, and I think Deb is checking into house rentals too.

ALISON, check with Elizabeth, but I would be concerned about traffic coming out of DC to Richmond. Keeping in mind that heavy traffic to us is probably like a speedway to you on your LA highways!

Depending on when people are coming I to Richmond Airport and which days, and where they are staying, Elizabeth and I can pick up and deliver.

Other than Michelle, not sure how many other rental cars will be in use. WE'LL WORK IT OUT!!! That's our mantra WE'LL WORK IT OUT!! 🙂 Just vet here a d we'll work it out!!

And Karma, as far as BARKY....can't wait for Maggie to meet SHRILL HOWLING NON STOP DISCUSSING EVERYTHING FRANKIE!!

If I make it up I'll be driving, so I don't mind being a shuttle for people flying in if I need to be lol. It's looking more and more like I'll be able to, I'll just have to eat pb and j and mac and cheese until then 😉 Can't wait!
