So Jasper and I really want to come but Richmond seems to be a smaller (aka pricey) airport with a lot of connections to get there from lax. Does anyone out east know of a different airport I could shop prices at? I want to come with JL but don't know if she can swing such a long travel day. 😀

October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014
Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Would love to come! Tai and I would drive...we are in CT and I have a Jeep Compass that easily fits two adults, Tai's seat and another dog and crate (depending on size, the back seat would have to be up) if anyone is in the area and wants to carpool.
The more the merrier. I know the house is about full but there is the hotel that Elizabeth posted which is close to the dog park 🙂 I am so excited.
Things are starting to take shape 🙂

Nitro 11 1/2 yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! Alison, flights into Baltimore are always much less expensive and you can get it non-stop but its a 2.5 hr drive south after that. DC might have similar options and it's a 1.5 hour drive.

For those staying in the DC or Baltimore area for a few days early or late, or just for a night before a flight, there are 3 Kimpton Hotels in the area. One in DC proper near Dupont Circle, one in Alexandria which is kind of near the airport (DCA, not Dulles), and one in Baltimore. I've stayed at the DC and Baltimore ones. They are very nice boutique hotels who cater to pets, e.g., put a pet bed and water dish in the room before you check in (although Milo chose the king size people bed), give you directions to places for potties, and a list of local eateries with outdoor seating that allow dogs.
We thought it was very nice for the money. Not Holiday Inn low cost, but not Marriott prices either, yet it seemed nicer than any Marriottt I've been in, and I've been in more than a few (only Silver status.)
I'm assuming there is no requirement to HAVE a tripawd to join, correct? Baby Darcy is now 5 months old and enjoys life on 4 legs. Chopping off a leg just so she can fit in seems a bit extreme. BTW, I speak to Milo all the time asking him to straighten Darcy out and teach her the right way to do things, and I believe he does. She is lying calmly at my feet on the ottoman, just like he did, with his ashes overlooking us from the mantle (creepy?)

Oh heck no bring Darcy. I am coming from Iowa with out any of mine. I wasn't going to drive 18 hours by myself with a dog and I won't put her under the plane. So I am flying (may borrow a few one of Karma's or one of Sally's to sleep with LOL)
Please come Jennifer. It would be nice to meet everyone out that way that can make it 🙂

Domino had his left front leg amputate on May 13th 2014 after being hit by a car. He's now living a happy healthy life on three legs :)

Cassie! I niw the location is not the best fornyiu, to say the least! Putting the loooong drive aside, znd I know that's saying alot, it looks like between the hiuse rental and TheLoft, possible we can get the cost per person down to about $50 ,per night.
