Thank you all so much! Leaving Georgia yesterday was so incredibly hard. The mom guilt is so awful, I imagine her being scared and thinking, “ where am I and where is my mom?” however I know she’s in great hands. There is a vet tech there that’s already texting me pictures of her, letting me know she’s settled down, with the help of Trazadone 🙏, and that she even ate dinner last night. Surgery will be at some point this afternoon, waiting to hear from the surgeon now about the surgical plan. I just can’t wait to have her home with me where she belongs. Thank you all for caring and praying for us 🙏 we love you guys already!

Oh I love that they are sending you photos! That's awesome. Any word from them today?

I got your message yesterday, it was reported as a "concerning post," I think you just hit the wrong button 😉

Keep us posted.

Georgia is out of surgery and did great! Even though she has a narcotic pain drip she is awake and her eyes look great! Thank God for an amazing vet tech who texts me pictures. There’s no better feeling than seeing her sweet face after this awful day. The lymph node they removed was small so that’s a good sign. I can’t wait to see her face on Wednesday 💜🐾

WHEEEE!!!! Step one is done! Georgia is ready to kick some butt when she stops seeing pink elephants from the drugs. YAY! It's so cool her vet team is taking time to send photos and put your mind at ease. In this era of crazy busy vet clinics, that's really saying something about the level of care she is getting.

Yep, take advantage of these next two nights and sleep, rest, and get ready for your sweet girl to come home soon. Be sure to check out our What to Expect articles to make sure all your bases are covered. It sounds like they are. If you have any questions at all just holler.

Lots and lots of Tripawd Power and love is coming to you and Georgia from across the miles. sp_hearticon2sp_hearticon2sp_hearticon2

I truly can’t wait for a couple nights of good sleep, especially knowing she’s getting the same thing. Thank you all for everything! I will definitely review the What to Expect articles , I want to be prepared so I can focus only on her beautiful face and eyes. While I’m still dealing with the anger of this unforeseen situation I’m beyond grateful for the amazing people I’ve encountered. Definitely feeling so blessed for you all 💜🙏🐾

Georgia is doing great! She is standing on her own and even taking a few steps without assistance! She's taken more steps with assistance from the sling. My tough girl even ate her breakfast this morning. Once she's weaned off the narcotic drip this afternoon they'll have her walking further. Her surgeon is very happy with her. I couldn't be more proud of her, her strength and her determination!

Oh wow that is super cool! Eating too? That's a really, really good sign. Many dogs don't have any kind of appetite during the first week or so. We are proud of you Georgia! Keep it up!

Georgia continues to amaze me!!! I asked the vet tech, who has been a Godsend, to send me a video of her once she was up moving around. I wanted to prepare myself as much as i could before i pick her up tomorrow. That way I would not be an emotional disaster in front of her. The video she sent is astonishing. Not even 24 hours post op she's acting as if nothing happened and she's pulling the vet tech across the yard and not even wobbling. Not only is she eating but she's eliminating both ways poopiconI'm in awe of her resilience!!!

WOW!!!!   Gorgia really is ahead of the curve!!  Earing, walking, pottying....STANDING OVATION FOR  YOUR GIRL!!!

You will be wo Happy to see her and will jave the biggest smile on your face when you see her uhappy to see you!!!  Cant wait for the homecoming update!!

Hugs

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

PS....Jist a little heads up.  Sometimes, not always, but sometimes  there is a bit pf a crash once all their good hospital  ,Ed's are out of their system  amd they are switching  over to the pull meds.  So don't  let that concern you at all....and it may not even happen.    Can all be handled with lots of rest and tweaking  the pain meds IF needed.

Thanks for the heads up about the meds!! they have actually weaned her off the narcotic drip already and she's back on oral meds, just Gabapentin, and Tramadol right now. Rimadyl will start in a few days. However they gave her a long acting pain medication that was infiltrated in the muscle during surgery.

Just catching up. How cool you got to see that video of her moving about! YAY! I hope your reunion today goes really great. Please let us know how she's doing.

P.S. The 3-day pain med she received is probably Nocita. It's a 72 hours so you should have one more day of relief with that. The Gabapentin and Tram is common for most dogs and should help her feel good. <ake sure that Rimadyl gets started as soon as they allow. Did they say why you need to wait to give it to her? That's a little unconventional.

Georgia is doing well at home. She’s going to the bathroom, eating, and even standing in the kitchen wanting the food I’m cooking for dinner. She’s doing better than me. I’m definitely still feeling very up and down. One minute I’m really grateful she’s doing so well the next I’m struggling with having to face all of this to begin with. It breaks my heart for her and it’s just so unfair. It’s all very nerve wracking, I’m constantly worried she’s going to get hurt 😞

I’m not sure why her surgeon said to hold off on the rimadyl, she was on meloxicam prior to surgery but she said she prefers rimadyl.
