I don't have anything new to add.  I just wanted to let you know that I'll be sending up a prayer for you and Marshall.  I hope you get some guidance from the vet soon.  I know the waiting can be one of the worst.

Hang in there...we're all here pulling for you and Marshall.

You all are awesome!!!! Today was a lot of ups and downs with Marshall and I appreciate all of you sticking with me through it. Marshall pulled a Marshall and perked himself up tonight when his Dad got home and actually went outside to play and he ran. Yup not a typo he ran in the yard not fast like he used to but it was still a run. I spoke with the Vet she wants us to add Tumeric pills. She doesn't think its time yet and since he pulled a marshall I don't think it is either. She wants him to have 1 tramadol 3 times a day if he needs it but the tramadol whacks him out so much that if he needs that then he's not having quality time. We have to see how each day goes. Today is a month since it was confirmed that he has a lung tumor. She said if he gets another month she would be thrilled but that he won't have 6 months. I will let you all know how he is tomorrow. It seems that mornings are harder for him than nights. Thank you all of you!!!!

Geez Marshall....youre giving us all minor panic attacks!!!

You're showing us yoir "pattern" of ups and downs really well! So now we can all stay steady and just know, when there is a down time, there is a Marshall Miracle UP time right around the cornerway-cool

Even if Tramadol whacks him out a bit, it can still help him get through any of those times he does have pain. Using it periodically to get through those "blips"won't mess with his overall quality as badly as pain would.I like that the Vet is still coming up with things to try for Marshall, like the tumeric.

I KNOW this is pins and needles rime and every little hiccup takes you to an "Is it time" fearful state of mind

Marshall is just NOT going to be controlled by this crap disease! He is refusing to give in! What a guy!! And Marshall is reminding us everyday he does NOT have a time frame stamped on his butt!! Marshall isn't focused on timeframes at all! He's still loving being Marshall!

YAAAAAAAAAY FOR MARSHALL!!!! And YAAAAAAAAAY FOR A GOOD RUN "MARSHALL STYLE"!!! :-)

Thanks for the uldate. We all care so deeply.

Love to all!

I have arthritis and mornings are the worst. A hot bath or shower helps a lot. I assume the tumeric is for arthritis pain relief. If Marshal does not enjoy a hot bath or shower (hot tub perhaps?) perhaps a warm heating pad on the joints could help in the morning. Ensure it is not too hot.

He sure has a loving mama.

Great advice Kerren, eslecially the heating lad. I know I use those "Therma Care Heatwraps" around my knees so etimes. The warmth does seem to soothe a little.

AND THAT PICTURE!!! OOOOOOMMMMMMDDDDD!!!! Sooooo cute!! I do believe that sweet chunk of love is thoroughly enjoying his hot tub experience!

I just did a whole long response and I don't know what happened this got whacked out on my phone and I lost the whole thing I'll do a quick response again now. Marshall has been having a lot of ups and downs more downs than ups. He's falling off furniture he is having more trouble getting up and down I'm thinking we need toup the prednisone. He isn't interested in playing with his toys which a week ago he was still interested in playing he isn't interested in playing with the puppy. My son said that his breath smells really horrible now and not like his normal breath. I haven't smelled it is that something to do with the lung tumor.I don't know how much more I'm willing to watch him the Klein before making the decision he just isn't himself and I'm worried that he's going to break a bone.i'm going to increase his prednisone and see if it gives him A boost but if not I don't know what else is left to do.he still eats anything and everything but I don't know if that's a good gauge with him because he is a lab and he is on prednisone. Any advice? Sorry I didn't update sooner I had tried to the other day and for some reason I couldn't get this page to load.

I'm so sorry that Marshall is having more poor days than good...sad

It's so hard for the humans in the pack when the end is approaching for our precious furbabies.  We have to stop and ask "is this the life our furbaby would want to live?"  It really does come down to the quality of their existence.  For me and my husband when our Leland's remaining hind leg went out (CCL rupture) and he could no longer walk or go to the bathroom on his own we knew he was too "dignified" to be wheeled around in a cart the my husband made and be held up by both of us so he could potty.  We couldn't picture our beautiful boy being confined to just laying around.  And on top of this his health was slowly declining.  It was the hardest decision we had to make and I wish we could have let him go at home out in our yard but we had to take him to a clinic.

Heck, going back to that day has me crying now and it's been 9 months.

What you have to look at is Marshall being Marshall and doing what he loves.  It truly is a hard decision to make but we are here for you.

And regarding the prednisone I believe it does increase their appetites along with thirst.

I'll be keeping your family and Marshall in my thoughts.

Okay, it was just about three days ago that he had so e play time. And he started off slowly that morning and got better in the afternoon.

As far as the "eating" being used as a guage in this particular journey...that's a tough call. I'm sure my Happy Hannah was trying to eat her Angel Wings and chomping at the clouds on her way up to the Bridge. She never, ever missed a meal!! But she preferred that I feed her in her bed rather than exert energy to get up. In her case, I think to wait for her not to eat, would have meant I waited too long. Just in her case.

But this journey...yeah, sometimes there are different qualifiers for "quality" when the outcome can only get worse, sometimes.

Upping the pred. sounds like a good plan...(with vet approval of course). You should be able to see if that makes a difference in a day or two. If I recall, he wasnt on an extremely high dose yet anyway. So you still have wiggle room!!!

Hoping tomorrow is an UP day!

CHEERING FOR YOU MARSHALL!!! WE LOVE YOU MARSHALL.....AND YOUR WHOLE PACK!!!

Sending lots of love.

So sorry for the troubles! Not what you need right now, we know. The Tripawds server has been experiencing performance issues over the past week and we are desperately working to identify the cause and resolve the issue.
