Yeah, Shadow  seems to really be doing well.  As I have been told repeatedly by others here, reall celebrate the vicgories  -- the wanting a treat, playing--all signs the spark is not oly still there--butmcoming back more amd more.  I really wouldn't be concerned at all about wanting  to sleep more---the surgery  can really zap them for awhile and the exertion of relearning how to walk can be very tiring.  They figure it out very quickly even though I'm sure they what the heck is going on here!?

Sendingnyou lots of healing energy and more and more joy with each day

Sally and Happ Hannah

I'm glad to hear that Shadow is doing better!

I'm sorry to hear that it was the highest grade.  Our dog Spencer had a grade 3 fibrosarcoma.  They did the amputation a week after we found the lump; but his was VERY fast growing.  Our oncologist said that for a grade 1 or 2 that we could assume that the amputation would be a curative surgery; but with grade 3 you had to assume that the odds were high that it could be in other parts at least at the cellular level.  If I were you I'd check with your vet about at least seeing an oncologist to see if you might need to explore more treatment.

(I say this not to scare you, just so that you can be sure that you explore every option and don't have regrets down the road.)

Jac and Angel Spencer.  Spencer was 5.25 years old. He fought a grade 3 fibrosarcoma, started on his shoulder.  Left front leg amputated in August 2011.  15 weeks of chemo finished 12/22/11 (mytox and adria).  Lung mets found on x-rays 12/28/11.  Started carboplatin 1/6/12. Went to Heaven on 2/27/12. I miss him like crazy every day.  See his blog here:  http://spencer.tripawds.com/
