Surgeon was very pleased to see how well Mojo's wound was healing and Oncology went ahead and administered the first Carboplatin chemo treatment. Mojo seemed to handle it pretty well considering she came running to me at the car and pulling the vet tech. The Tech said "if she runs this fast on 3 legs I can only imagine how fast she ran on 4."icon_lol

Dinner down the hatch along with her last anti-biotic and now she sleeps.

Sometimes chemo can make them  offas appetite goes for a couple of days. If he seems to show any signs of nausea, you can ask your vet about giving him cerenia.

Just continue to try and give him any yummy foods he will eat. Small meals are usually best at this point

just give him a big smooch for us, okay?

Aww poor puppers. Yeah that's probably the worst you'll both experience. Definitely ask about the anti-nausea medication and check out these appetite tips:

Seems she will eat the wet food but not the water-softened dry. I even brought over some other dry food from the in-laws and she ate a few of those kibbles before leaving them on the plate.

OK so whatever she will eat at this point, give it to her. The wet has water in it so it helps keep her hydrated. Whatever you do, don't mix any medication in the food or it will turn her off of eating completely. Keep us posted!

Softened a mixture of the two dry foods and adding some wet. She ate about half her plate which did include some of the softened dry. I will give her a few more spoons of wet since you mentioned that. She is drinking water and not throwing up so that's a major plus. She just seems to be picky on her food. She gets her fish oil capsules and Dasquin chewable before breakfast and after a few tries she'll take it, she used to take it willingly as a treat.

I think I will definitely ask them to give her some anti-nausea meds before they administer the next does of chemo.

Oh a major plus indeed! I'm glad to hear she is drinking water too. Right now you may want to skip her supplements while she's going through chemo. You want to associate food and treats with good things and if she's not thrilled about the supplements right now I would hold off but ask your vet if that's OK.

And yep, good idea to get the RX for the meds as a precaution for next time.

Yeah, just keep trying yummy foods, even it it means deviating  from dog food to hooman food....rotisserie  chicken, scrambled eggs with cheese and bacon, etc.

You're  doing a good job!  And apologies to Mojo for calling her a he!

Either she was really hungry or I found the key to get her to eat. Softened the dry food, mushed it into the canned food, served on paper plate. We'll see how breakfast goes.
