This is a great question for Dr. Waterhouse, you can ask him here, since a flight of stairs can vary from location to location. I would love to know what he says.

When in doubt, start easy and short. Make it fun, not work. I think your instinct is spot on, 5 rotations of just 3 super easy, stairs with traction , 3 times a day and build up from there but very slowly.

Question for folks....

Mojo is over her dry kibble but eating it even though I thoroughly cover it with wet (she is eating both) and since we are almost finished with the bag of kibble I was thinking of switching her to a different dry kibble versus buying another 40lb bag of the same. I had asked her regular vet back around when she turned 11 if I should switch from a regular adult weight control food to a senior food and the vet said that Senior and Weight Control foods just have a lower protein content so she would be fine to just stay on the Weight Control. I'm looking for another low protein kibble (her current kibble is a weight control has a minimum of 20% crude protein). Any suggestions?

Lol! Well who wouldda thought that Mojo would really need it now?!

Question for folks….

Mojo is over her dry kibble

I'm going to give that some thought. Would you mind putting the question in Eating Healthy? That way others who are looking for a good lower protein kibble can easily find this discussion. Here are a few discussions about senior food but it's been a while and I'm not sure they answer your question.

Thank you!

2nd dose of chemo in the books! Although her white blood count was still a little low, it had come up enough that they were okay giving her the second round of chemo and her Carboplatin dose was reduced by 15%. She gobbled up her dinner and is now resting after an exciting day at "day care". We go back on May 15 for a CBC re-check.

CBC check on Friday and her levels came up a little bit more so they think the 15% reduction of the chemo is the right level. We also decided not to swap her Kirkland kibble to Hills Science Diet....we're just gonna continue to add some wet canned to the softened dry....she's eating it so we're gonna stick with what is working. We go back Thurs for her next chemo dose.

It's awesome you guys found the sweet spot for her dosage. And I'm with you on not switching up her food, especially during chemo. Slow and steady wins the race as they say. How's her mobility doing?

Hope this week's visit goes smoothly! Keep us posted!

Mobility is really good. It's hard to tell in the video but there is a decline from the gate (where she's at in the first video and where I'm recording in the second).
