Hello! Thank you for all you insight and care.

Mads had her surgery on Thursday but fell Friday am so she had to have a second surgery to make sure everything was ok. She came home this am this dog is not lethargic at alll. I thought from reading everything that she would be out of it for a few days that is not the case. I am up on the drugs and just making sure she eating drinking and relatively calm & lots of love. She has wanted to walk around the yard a bit I used the amazon harness someone rec’d just to assist her.

Am I doing this right? Is she ok? What am I looking for in-terms of things not being ok? This just feel wild.

Hey there! Thank you for the update. I'm so sorry she fell. Oh my gosh was she injured? Poor pup!

It's a good sign that she is doing so well. She may continue to be perky or she might enter the "crash" phase in a few days and want to rest and sleep a lot. If so that's not uncommon, it happens to a lot of dogs. It's like their brain and body caught up to each other and the brain tells the body "not so fast! you need to heal!"

Rest is medicinal. Try to keep her calm and in a quiet place to recover. interactive brain games are so helpful for recovery. They will tire her brain out faster than any kind of physical activity right now.

Yes you are doing this right! Here's an article for some guidance:
