Excellent Job Clare❣️

I am sure it was impossible to get everything you wanted to say and felt in 2000 words. Impossible task!

You captured the pawty and the community and it all it has to offer for the public & I have no doubt you have brought more awareness and will bring more people to the community!

Most Excellent and enjoyable read! Loved the pictures too !

I see the article is getting a lot of comments;)

The photographer also did a excellent job of capturing the event! Where do all the pictures go that were not published?

BRAVO!!clapclap

Great article Claire. It brought out many emotions in me - envy as I wasn't there, tears that you had to part ways, joy for all of the connections and bursts of laughter. You are an exceptional writer.

I loved your response to grouchy "eggstastic" in the comments regarding Jasper eating lettuce: "I didn't say she wore the lettuce?" It's a good thing you didn't include the photo of Mona wearing kale greens, he might have blown a gasket.

Clare - AMAZING JOB!!! Truly amazing!!! I know it was a hard task to write in such few words about an experience like this!

From a basic outsider - my mom (who is also a writer) has this to say:  And she captured the spirit of the event and the people and the stories without ever being overly sentimental, which is a tough thing to do. One thing I like is how well Clare personalized each story without lingering too long on each individual event/dog/person. Nice balance. When you have only 2,000 you need to make each word count. Great photos, too, and I appreciated knowing a bit of background on Tripawds and how it came to be founded.

So BRAVO!!! Well done my dear friend ... you captured our world to people that aren't connected in the same fashion as us ...

and to the guy in the comment section about the lettuce eating dog... I had a few words for him too! 🙂 I love responding to comments on the internet right now. It is our new zen.

XOXO LOVE this and love you!!! heart

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Amazing job Clare!  Thank you so much!  Your article will educate many.  Alison's mom summed it up perfectly!  You made every word count!  And we all know until you need this community there's no way you can realize what it is and what it does for people that do need it.  Well done my friend!  You have such a talent and we're so lucky you share it with this world!  Miss you my friend!

WOW. So you just have to picture this. Tired and exhausted from our all-day rummage sale, Admin and I HAD to sit and read your article before crashing out for the night. He is reading on his device and I am reading on mine, and the tears are flowing here, but in a good and beautiful way! There are no tissues nearby so all you can hear from us is SNIFFF....SNORK...SNIFF...SNORK....and on. The waterworks (and laughter after reading the comments!) are all because you did an INCREDIBLE and PERFECT job at describing the LOVE and the SPIRIT of this community. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Clare!

Seriously, you are such a talented writer. You captured everything so perfectly, far beyond what happened at the event, and right into the heart of what makes the people and animals of Tripawds so special. What a gift you have been given, we are so grateful that you have shared your talents in this way. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for all of your effort, this is beautiful beyond anything we could have imagined.

{P.S. RIGHT ON Alison! LOVED your response, and you too Shari! Thank you thank you!)

Everytime I come here to TRY and express how SPECTACULAR this article is, I keep going back and reading it over and over again!!!

And each time I discover a new little nugget of gold that I missed the first time...or two...or three...or...yeah, maybe up to a dozen now!!! 🙂 🙂 As every sentence you wrote with such heartfelt love unfolded, you elightened, you informed, you raised awareness, you brought laughter, you brought tears, AND.....HUGE AND....you spoke masterfully as you represented every single dog and cat and their humans who have been on this journey!

Every voice that was used represents ALL of us. Every photo that was used represents ALL of us. This community is ONE HEART and that came through with crystal clear clarity. The way you weaved everything together so seamlessly with your love, your compassion AND your great wit is TRULY a gift...a very guided gift.

You highlighted the story of Jim, Rene and Jerry in a way that, not only shows the deep bond they had with Jerry, but also how he guided them to help carry out his life's mission. And I loooove their picture with Wyatt! Their smiles light up the Universe!

And the comments...WOW!! You touched a lot of hearts...and the heart of an ocassional Jackass! 🙂 Something I found touching was when a couple of people recounted childhhod stories about a tripawd that had crossed their paths. It gave me a "warm fuzzy" knowing all our Tripawds will, indeed, be remembered by anyone they have ever met! And goodness knows, Eurydice, like all our tripawds, is a great example of that! 🙂

Another thing that you have done soooo masterfully is given everyone who wasn't at the pawty....the gift of what it felt like to be at the pawty!! You were able to transfer all the love and joy of the pawty through your words in such a way,p that everyone knew what it FELT like to be there!! WOW!! Talk about a gift!!

And Clare, it hurts me, it hurts all of us, that for once second you would have a "regret" about ANYTHING in this divinely guided article!! You can tell by the feedback it accomplished what NEEDED to be shared to touch lives in ways we will never know. We DO know with absolute certainty, lives WILL be saved and second chances WILL be given and NO ONE will ever travel this journey alone!

And Meg knocked a kid off a scooter??? 🙂 Sorry kid on the scooter, but consider yourself touched by the paw of doG!!

Clare, it wasn't an easy journey that brought you and Meg to us, but we are ALL better.....and I mean this......we are all better human beings for having you in our lives! You have done so much for this community in so many ways!

You and Meg and Elsie Pie put the razzle-dazzle in our day.....And you have done it once again with this exquisite portrait of our Tripawd Universe.

With so.much love and sincere gratitude for all the gifts you share

Well I think you're all lovely. Thank you so much for your very kind and generous words, and thank you for trusting me enough to let me write the piece in the first place. I've never been so stressed about anything I've written (really. I've lost about two stone), I think simply because this community is SO important to all of us and it felt like one hell of a responsibility to try and convey something of it. You've given me and the girls so much, both in terms of support, information, celebration – where else could I possibly hope to receive such an enthusiastic response to my endless musical dog videos... and I've learned such a lot, and not just about tripawds – who knew 'lovely' was British English? And 'cocking'? Well....

I'm sorry about the idiot, Alison. You ALWAYS get at least one, and usually more, and I tell myself not to read the comments, but of course I always do. I think you dealt with Mr Eggstatic perfectly. And on that note I would like to propose an annual 'Eggstatic' dressing up contest (I mean, I know there's Halloween, but that's ages away, and we have to entertain ourselves through the Summer), with bonus points for 'greenery', salad or otherwise. I see we already have our first entrant above, the lovely Miss Mona, and it must be said, she has set the bar pretty high. Still, I see Elsie and Meg are already eyeing up the salad patch, so we'll just have to see what they come up with...

Love you all SO much!

The print version has a couple more pictures, as well as a large pic on the contents page. I thought you might like to see them. I have to say, I do think Jared did a pretty amazing job (of course, he had some amazing material to work with...)

Yes, some of the comments were annoying....I don't think I'm "lonely and bereaved"; oh well. The article was outstanding Clare, it had to be really hard to condense several days worth of material into one article. Thank you for a job well done!

Sally put in words what Jim and I were incapable of conveying last night when we read it. Clare you are such a gifted writer, there was no need for you to stress about it, really. Your words and everyone who was there represented the community beautifully.

I did forget to say that we have Jarod's contact info and will be reaching out to him this week. He told us that after publication he can release the photos. Stay tuned!

P.S. My journalism professor once said to me that if a writer isn't evoking any kind of emotion (positive or negative) in readers then the writer is not doing their job properly. Clare, you have MORE than done your job better than any one else could have. THANK YOU!
