Woot! Dr. Ryan Llera, DVM, just published a fantastic article about the #Tripawd Life. It's such an honor when a vet gives us accolades!
3 Out of 4 Ain’t Bad (or 3-Legged Pets)
Losing a leg is not a death sentence; it’s a second chance at a renewed life. I’ve seen this with my own cat.

Look who's in the news . . . Ziggy from Australia!
Ziggy has been a member for a long time. Some of you may remember him. His one remaining front limb has had serious issues since he was born, and his pack have spent the last two years working so hard to figure out a way to save that leg. When they started working with the University of Queensland, they had to go stealth on his situation because of proprietary technology the school was going to attempt to use on him (thus, why Ziggy's blog had to be pulled). It's been a lonnng time but he's BACK and in a big way! Ziggy is all over the news. Stay tuned for an interview with his people. We are THRILLED for them all!

Amazing!
Active 10+ Pyr mix suddenly came up lame with ACL tear in left rear leg. Scheduled for a TPLO but final pre-op x-rays indicated a small suspicious area, possibly OSA, which could have caused the ACL tear. Surgeon opened the knee for TPLO but found soft bone. Biopsy came back positive for OSA. Became a Tripawd 9/18/14. Carbo6 with Cerenia and Fluids. Pain free and living in the moment. Crossed the Bridge on 7/12/15 after probable spread of cancer to her cervical spine. A whole lifetime of memories squeezed into 10 months. Here's her story: Eloise
If you've been around here for any length of time you may recall that one of our first members, biggest cheerleaders and best friends of the Tripawds Nation is TC Wait and her pack, the Odaroloc Sled Dogs. I'd like to share this amazing, beautiful CNN story that TC and her pack (including Liam, the "almost" Tripawd) were just featured in, you will LOVE IT.

AWESOME!!!!
Shelby Lynne; Jack Russell/Shiba Inu mix. Proud member of the April Angels of 2014.
October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014
Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
What an honor to be featured in our friend MK Clinton's blog, Barking from the Bayou!
Tripawds ~ Living Life on 3 Paws
Do you know a dog or cat that is living life on 3 paws? It is not as unusual as you might think. You can read Skippy’s Story to meet a great little dog that is living large as a tri. I can’t imagine how devastating the decision to amputate a limb on a beloved pet must be for someone. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have someone to talk to at a time like that? You’d need a person that has been down that long road to answer your questions and calm some of your fears. READ MORE
