You ask great questions about Tripawd dog fitness and I'm so glad you did! It's so important to know what a Tripawd is and isn't capable of doing during all the stages of life. Some dogs are capable of activities that others are not, it really depends on the breed type, age, and type of activity.

I hate to break it to you but honestly, the shelter is right: any kind of ongoing running is not the best idea, even for a young, fit Tripawd. Especially for a front-leg Tripawd, because they put such incredible force on that one remaining front leg. Sure he can run like the wind now, but if you want his joints to last as long as possible and keep him pain and injury free, you'll want to keep those running activities short and consider investing in a dog stroller so he can still go along for the ride. Pet strollers are so awesome because you can run and still take your dog with you. We got one for our Wyatt when he was a senior but I wish we would have done it years earlier, he could have gone so many more places with us.
