Ann,

That was a beautiful tribute you wrote for your Lili.  I am so very very sorry for your loss.  Lili fought a strong battle and was smiling up until the very end and now she smiles at you from up above.  I am so happy you have those beautiful photos to remind you of her forever.

My thoughts are with you at this difficult time and I am sending you lots of warm hugs and strong thoughts.

All my love,

Erica

Scruffalicious indeed, those pics really show her and Peter's adorable, sweet sides as well as your love for both of them.

The first few days are just so rough. All of those "firsts" are just something you have to get through. They hurt though, I'm so very sorry.

We are here if and when you want to talk OK?

Hugs and hearts to you all.  Thank you for sharing Lili's story and those beautiful pictures.  I, too, believe that she is in a better place, with no pain, and she continued her journey surrounded by your love.

In the short time since I've joined Tripawds I've come to appreciate that each member's story is every member's story.  With so many cancer cases, each gain is everyone's gain, and each loss is everyone's loss.  Know that your sadness and your tears are shared, along with hopes and prayers that your pain will be eased.

How brave and kind you have been. I had little throat spasms and my eyes filled as I read your lovely tribute to Lili. Your hearts must be broken.

Thanks for sharing her story and your terrific photos. I hope you get some rest over the next few days and that you take comfort from Lili's release from pain and distress. You did right by her.

I am so sorry that Lili's journey came to an end so quickly.  It is so painful to let our pups cross the bridge even though it is the best, most unselfish thing to do.

I hope the happy memories of past years, and the inspiring way Lili fought cancer bring you some peace in these difficult days.

Lili will always be in your heart, and so will always be by your side.

Thanks, everyone, for the kind words and support when I needed it most.  I have read each and every on of your posts more than once, though I have been quiet for a while.  Hard to believe that tomorrow will be 2 weeks without our Lili.  The house is strangely quiet, her "brother" Peter has been sad and clingy, and we miss her so dearly.

It all happened so quickly, 4 days between finding out about the spine mets and her paralysis of her back end - it all seems surreal, a blur, and, when I stop to think about it, just monumentally unfair.  I still can't believe it.  Cancer just sucks.

But we are surging ahead, moving forward.  We scheduled a dog friendly vacation in a couple weeks, so that we can heap lots of attention on Peter and just get a break from it all.

I haven't been able to bring myself to pick up Lili's ashes yet, but we will do that soon.  It just makes it so...real.  Sigh.

I know, the first few weeks, the first everythings without our beloved pup, are so hard!

More quality time with Peter is exactly what you need to help heal your broken hearts, he is the best medicine right now.
