Not to beat this poor thread to death but...I decided yesterday that Daisy just doesn't feel good and it is more than just her knee. Talked to the vet last night about my fears (I'm such an obsessive worry wart when it comes to Daisy anymore since the whole amputation thing) and told her I was now obsessing that she has a bone infection. She had me run a urine sample to her today and Daisy does have an infection (UTI). On my way over there after work to pick up antibiotics. Hopefully in a few days Daisy will perk up again and we can continue on the road to recovery.

Wow, are UTI's contagious? We seem to have a lot of Tripawds with them lately!
I'm glad that it wasn't anything more serious though. Give your girl a hug from us. And a big kudos to you for listening to your instincts. Good job Ma!

Hey, you're talking to a group of people who know how to grow warts just for the purpose of worrying!:-) Worrying is what we do ....so we nderstand!
Yeah, UTI and amputation seem to be gong paw and paw these days!
Sorry its a uti but glad that's "all" it is! You are very observant and you know your Daisy! Good job mom!

Sally and Happy Hannah
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
YAY! Since Daisy has recovered from her UTI she has started hopping around on her own again and is even peeing and poopin' without me using the sling. NO MORE SLING! YAY! My neck (I think I now have a permanent crick in it) and back are so very thankful.
Still have a ways to go as she tires very easily but to see my girl wanting to do her normal routine is the BEST.THING.EVER.

Awesome! Those darn infections just seem to like knocking a dog around when they're already down. So glad it was something fairly straight forward.
Now, rest your tired back!
Luanne and Shooter
Spirit Shooter was a Miniature Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed with a MCT and had a LF amp 1/28/13 at 13-1/2 years old.
Shooter crossed the Bridge on 8/28/13, his 7 month ampuversary and two weeks from his 14th birthday.
Yay, Daisy! Can't keep a good gal down for too long. Now you just keep on drinking enough water to maintain this level.
Murphy
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
