Sally, you have your hands full. Two tripawds and two partially blind. But they all look so so happy! Frankie is just like Kenzie. The only way to distract her is to say cookie. Lol

The shelter they came from definitely went above and beyond for Hank and Cash. Those are two lucky dogs to arrive at such a caring shelter and then to get a forever home with you. They definitely have an angel looking after them. I wonder who it is❤️

It is amazing what you are doing but none of us would expect anything else. That is just who you are❤️

My Beautiful Beloved Brownie was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma on February 26, 2019.  With all odds against him he lived an additional one year and eight days with amputation, love, and prayer.  I was honored to be his mom, and I have never been so proud!  He will live forever in my Heart!

They look super comfy Sally, fantastic! Generally speaking, how does Frankie get along with other dogs (excluding Myrtle of course!) From that little clip he looks really good! Tail up and wagging, head up, and woo woooing like a happy dog 🙂   He did not seem to appear threatened, nor in the need to protect his territory. Pawsome!

Do you have somebody that can help you when you are ready to introduce them without a fence between them? You have 4 strong dogs there and having another person (or people) could make all the difference in the world for you.

When I did shelter work and adopted dogs out (and when I brought new dogs home) I always took the dog that lived there out of the home and brought the new dog in first. That way the new dog is not crashing in on "territory". It appears less of a threat for the dog(s) that already live there and it seems to quell the need for the alpha spirit to come out in the dog that is already living in the home.

I also had all parties involved on lead just in case. Once they got some good sniffing in and were able to unwind I took the lead off one at a time starting with the most passive.

I know you probably already know all of this, lol... you are truly a dog whisperer sp_hearticon2  It has been a while since a new family member(s) were added to the pack.

Love your update, the new pups are totally thriving on your love sp_hearticon2sp_hearticon2

Happy gotcha week Hank, Cash & Sally;)

Frankie and Myrtle, I'm not leaving you out. I'll wait until you believe you have two faithful, loyal, lovable bff's, and you will!

Hank & Cash don't even react to Frankieicon_lol

I'm amazed and filled with joy the shelter could deal with their health issues and get them HOME to you, Sally! sp_hearticon2

Lots of cookies for Frankie.

Loads of love to you all!

Thank you...each of you for your kind words, your support, your input and for your LOOOOOVE♥️♥️♥️.

To address the  "issues"..  Guess it sounded like a lot of things, but I basically  chronicled  everything here as my "journal" to copy and paste to their new Vet, just so I don't  miss anything.  Some of what I noted was from their first "intake" at another area than Caring for Creatures.  Basically, it was a "dog pound" They noted their horrible condition,  the deformed leg  of Cash's and Hank's "blindness", u underweight, etc.  Their conditions was so poor they guessed they were 10 yrs old,

So when CFC stepped in ten days later and took them,I think it was because it was basically. ro  save them from euthanasia.

Once in their care, that's  when they were advised to amputate  Cash's  deformed leg, give Hank eye surgery to restore some form if vision, the heart issues were discovered  in preliminary  work up before their surgeries and other stuff was discovered  as they peeled back the layers of important  stuff first.  The Aurgeon wa first tio note Cash's elbow dysplasia  but still said he was a good candidate.

Moving along with their 'story", when I waa first being considered as an adoptee, the dog  co-ordinator left abrubtly and at last minute the "cat coordinator took over.  I do recall when I did the first I trip  to meet them, that Cash's heart murmur was mentioned and he was cleared for the amputation and just to be aware.  The records indicated that, while things showed up upon further examination,  nothing really needed to be addressed further or it was already treated (like the butt abcess, uti, etc), or to just be aware.

Guess I'm really trying to say nothing of importance was "held back" or anything like that at all!  When I first went to meet Hank and Cash I doubt the "cat coordinator " had even had a chance to look at their records.   Besides, I made it plain I wanted to adopt them regardless of anything!!

Soooo....again..point of listing all this here was to keep them in a "safe place" for their Vet's future reference

......dont worry though....more pictures will be coming soon👏👏

If your still reading this.......a breakthrough the "ond team bonding journey".  .Cash came to the common fence line, Frankie went over without barking or howling  and in a calm state and just kind of walked (hipped) side by side for a few steps.  Both pretty much ignoring each other.

PS....yes Jackie, Frankie gets along with other dogs, as does Myrtle.  The best experience these two had as far as interaction  with other dogs was at a tripawd pawty with lots of other dogs.  Frankie always makes his presence known when ever he goes anywhere by howling and barking to announce his presence,, but that's the Hound in him. .

Thanks for all uour insight.   And yes, it certainly helps that Hhank and Cash are so chill when at the fence

Ohhh Sally, I hope I didn't sound too worried or like I was making conclusions.  I'm grateful for the whole background story and I'm glad the rescue snagged them from euthanasia because we both know that's what would have happened.  Anal gland abcess happens and once treated usually fine.  You know when they need to be expressed,  the neglect he had probably brought it on to begin with.

I was thrilled to see their fence action.  I bet they'll all be best buds very quickly❤🐾❤🐾❤

I only mentioned extra hands because Mitchell was great with other dogs until one day when we brought him to board so we could go to RI. I walked in and this simple minded woman was ahead of us with a dog off lead. The dog ran and charged Mitch and if I hadn't screamed and jumped forward,  Mitch would have been attacked.  After that he was very leary... it never left him.  Awful how one time experiences can stay with you, dogs and people alike.

I'm really thrilled for you,  I hope I didn't say anything to make you think otherwise.

Looking forward to more photos and videos❤

Lots of love and huge hugs to you and your pack!

My Dearest Jackie♥️♥️♥️. My Dearest Silly Goose Jackie😁   Whaaaat???? Saaaay. Whaaaaat???

Your reply was chock full of love and caring and insight!!!   And I appreciated  BERY MUCH that you took tine to share your knowledge ith adoption situations!  You ALWAYS add so much value because  of your background and vast experiences!

And I absolutely  100 % felt you were excited and thrilled for this addition and you definitely  expressed that!!  Shhhh.....between us.....I'm a little less thrilled when Hank and Cash start the song of their people and Frankie and Myrtle join in at 1 am.....at 3 am....at 7 am....🥵

I went back and re-read what I wrote just to see where on earth I could jave said to make you feelin this way.  I was quite focused on wanting to explain that I didn't  feel Caring for Creatures  was remiss in not going over every nuance of their medical records with me.

So please, please, please know that there was NOTHING uou said that offended me or bothered me in any way, shape or form!!  You should know by now that I know who you are as a person and you would never say anything unkind or in a way to offend anyone!!  And I DO apologize if I said anything to make you doubt how well intended  I, along with everyone else.., know   you are, smack me upside the head through cyberspace!

Okay my dear friend, thank you for giving me the opportunity  to clarify!  You're still a Silly Goose

Love and light♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Just doing some more "chronicling " so I  can see thru the videos  the merging progress  of the hounds and da' Bull Mastiff. Slow and easy at their own pace in their own way.  Day 11.

Myrtle..sniff and  move on...

Frankie...still fussing about the "interlopers"....but only for a few seconds (loud seconds) and then moving on.  Love how Hank turns his head in a way that says "Quite yelling in my ear!"   Lots more mome ts now of just being side by side at the fence and everyone  doing their own things, sniffing around, etc.  All tails wagging

I love this community. It can be so tough sometimes to convey things online. Everyone is so considerate of other people's feelings when in doubt of how something may have got interpreted. Thank you for making this such a special place.

So Sally, is it me or do they look a little more relaxed around one another?

Yes Jerry, Everyone here is always so well intended and always comes from such a loving place.  That's definitely  the kind of compassionate  foundation that allows this community to flourish as a support system for each other....and any random silly geese that might fly by🤣😅🤣

And yes Jaxkie and Jerry, the pups are becoming  more and more relaxed with each other.  It certainly helps having Cash and Hank having such good attitudes  when it comes to "other" dogs.

Good boy Frankie and Good Girl Myrtle, I see huge pawgress! Cash and Hank want to know what the fuss is about we are home!

Sally, I can only imagine three hounds plus Myrtle singing at 1,3 & 7 am. I'm sure Cash and Hank are seeing and hearing the deer, coons, opossums, bunnies, etc., starting the tune. You won't have anyone coming on the property without knowing it.

They will be a pack in another week or 2 ! 😁
Loads of love
