That artwork of Possum and Tuni is priceless. I love the .little glint in their eyes,, as well as the way they are cuddled together.
Thanks Holly for explaining the need for the supplement.
It's very proactive to get that appt. with a Vet who specializes in cats! Hopefully they can come up with some solutions for petunia in a way that works for her and supports the liver.
You are a very strong advocate for Tuni and Possum. Give yourself some credit, okay?
Not sure about possums I discharge. Maybe just an allergy??
Hugs
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
YAY Possum not puking!!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Just saw the original of the painting you posted oh my gosh! Those two are just the cutest things ever! And that is when they were three years old? They have not aged a bit! They still look just as young as ever!

Thanks Sally!!! I appreciate you asking about this supplement. With the knowledge that I have, these liver supplements are the only thing that can help lower the liver values. I read a post in the group.io forum for liver disease in cats that a cat was saved nearly from death of its high liver values if it wasn’t for denamarin . I am so attached to that story. Unfortunately the pills were making Petunia throw up 20 minutes after giving it to her 3 days in a row. So I tired the liquid, but that was so much worse. The first supplement were chewables for dogs, but Tuni doesn’t have many teeth left and won’t even chew on them and they are scary to have her swallow whole. Spent $300 for all 3 supplements and she hasn’t gotten benefits from them.
Yes, 3 years old!!! I can’t believe that photo is even that old! I still feel like it was yesterday when I brought them home as kittens to my college apartment! My friend did an amazing job at the painting. He is an artist, but painting a pet (or two pets) from a photo was the very first time he has done that. Oil painting, I believe. I was very impressed!
The thing is I actually really like their regular vet doc. She’s so sweet and I do think she does care. It’s hard for me to know if their knowledge is on par of an all-cat vet unless I go to one. It wasn’t until 2023 when all these issues came up with P&P and the vet I go to is the only one I’ve been to. I can’t discredit them cause I have called them nearly weekly the last 3 months and they have always been happy to help me. At this point I am desperate and want to see if there is other ways I can help Petunia. Nothing has been stable since she got her leg amputated, and I want nothing more than to let her get into a normal routine without additional meds with the exception of gaba and HT meds.
Awww I love that painting too! Just saw it.
I'm so glad you made the move to see a cat specialist. I think you will be so impressed by the different type of experience, and it will help you feel more grounded about all of the EXCELLENT work you are doing to care for both kitties but especially Petunia.
Yay, on moving or trying the cat clinic. I can only speak for ours, and the difference it has been for us, and it's NIGHT and DAY in the care. I miss seeing the dogs, however, but the boys now boy do not. We have had a few experiences where a pup would lunge towards them. That is the owner's fault not doing the pups, and they were only doing their instinct, so I never blamed the pups. It's a much different atmosphere. I'm relieved for you and the girls, and I will feel much better about their care. I am not bashing your vet in any way, but there is a difference in a cat-only clinic, and the knowledge is an astounding difference.
Please tell us where you are going. I have to see;) (Is this appointment for Petunia, or are both the girls just asking, figuring it's for Petunia?)
I'm glad to hear Possum is doing well. Cerenia is used off-label for cats. NO WORRIES on Cerenia. It sounds as if Possum may have some IBD, and this works fantastic for that.
Purrkins has never had to take Cerenia. (knock on wood) Only Saxton- he had 16 mg 1/4 to 1/2 tablet by mouth as needed for vomiting—no more than a full tablet per day.
We did a full tablet occasionally because Saxton's old vet prescribed the full dosage (kitty vet script above). Saxton seemed to do best with the higher dosage. I also remember Dr. Pam answering this question for a friend/member on cerenia dosage here.
I typically give cats under 10# 1/2 tablet of the 16 mg Cerenia once daily but I will say that Cerenia is very safe so the higher dose is okay. We often use it for chronic coughing dogs and cats as well at a much lower dose than the label suggests for nausea so you might see some cats taking 1/4 tablet every 1-3 days chronically for
No worries, I will make a video for you today or tomorrow & get it uploaded on how I do the liquid milk thistle, tube and syringe
AWE! The painting and pic are both treasures! I LOVE THEM so much!!!
HUGS & love to the girls, please

I appreciate you offering to take a video! It would be so helpful for ideas! I’ll be taking her to College Station Cat Clinic in Wheaton, IL. It’s only 5 miles away. 🙂 And it’ll only be for Petunia. I’ll see how it goes and maybe I’ll bring Possum there. The only thing is they have limited hrs, only during my working hrs and a few hours on Saturdays, so for convenience, I might still go to my normal vet for Possum at least. Or even for Solensia shots for Petunia.
No problem, I am happy to do it,
Oh, I love it. It is a gold clinic like ours & they receive rave reviews like ours. I'm so happy you're going to give them a try. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the visit and care and if you notice all the differences as we do.
GREAT JOB, Samantha, and trust me when I tell you we understand switching vets and how hard it is to do. You will know if the fit is right. The girls will appreciate the calm atmosphere, and you will appreciate the care & no-rush appointments.
Omg, I love all the photos of Purrkins!!! I feel like I know so much about him, but haven’t seen photos of him. He’s so cute!! Love to hear that the cat vet is gold status! A lot of amazing reviews with Dr. Watson, who Tuni and I will be seeing on Monday. I am curious since they are a cat vet if they would do follow ups seeing how things are going. I know the vet I go to is extremely busy, so I don’t fault them. I don’t know if follow ups are a thing. I just would really love that kind of support with Petunia especially cause it would make my heart feel warm knowing that they really care about her well-being.
Can't believe you haven't seen pictures of Purrkins. Isnt he so handsome? And those beautiful green eyes......lovely , lovely, cat. He's a legend around here.....as is his Mom Holly and Angel Saxton.♥️
So happy you jave that appt. 😎
