Did Possum puke today, too? If so, it has to be their food.
First off no decision needs to be made today. Take that pressure off yourself!!!! And do not second guess your decision now. Nothing has technically changed in these few weeks besides the denamarin , and it appears not to be sitting well or so we think.
I would get the labs done to see where things are at, and you can still add another liver support after the labs if things have not improved. For me it would depend on the lab values on my step forward. See where they are at if they have increased further I would do the ultrasound, if they are the same try another liver support and retest in one month.
Im unsure on the antibiotic only because I have no experience in using for liver values, im assuming since it was prescribed to help - I HOPE it did!!! Did you find anything like this in the liver support group?
(((((HUGS))))))
Yep, time to take a deep breath. You are doing your best, and it's time to put your oxygen mask on so you can think more clearly. The suggestion to take good notes is really helpful, and needed because you have so much going on between the two cats. It will help you think more clearly if you break stuff down on paper. Write down events by the day, and even by the time/segment of day (AM/Noon/PM), etc. It will help you get a better handle on what you are seeing and when, and more clearly communicate to the vet.
Deciding on further testing - ultrasound, things to think about and ask -
What are we looking for C or?
Ok. what if we find C? What is that treatment?
What will you or can you do with the findings of the ultrasound?
Would you want to treat, and could you afford to treat? - What would those treatments look like for Petunia?
Ask the vet what are we are looking for specifically and the treatment per those situations. That will help you decide what is best for Petunia and you!!!
Does your vet sedate for ultrasounds? Some do, some don't.
Do they do them in their office, or do you have to go elsewhere?
Who is doing the ultrasound? The test is only as good as the qualified person doing it. You want experience -someone who does this daily. I can't remember what the title is.🤔 I only remember being told it matters who is doing the reading/test. Maybe someone will help me and chime in?
I know it can't hurt to try other liver supplements and retest!
I missed one question- the difference between the denamarin 's: one is enteric coated, and one is chewable. That's all I can tell you?! As I mentioned before, I was unaware or made aware of the other one until Petunia was prescribed it.
I hope and pray that no one is puking tonight and tomorrow!
I'm off for the night and will look for an update tomorrow!

We will get it figured out. Everything with P&P has become a lot mentally these last few days, and hopefully it’ll get better. For right now, cuddles while watching “A League of Their Own” is making me feel a bit better.
Aich a sweet picture. Just being with these two on the couch has to help you relax and be fully present in the moment. They are telling you, "All is well Mom. We are here with you all cozy on the couch and we feel fine.".

Possum threw up last night w/ food. Petunia also threw up (clear). I was hoping that giving Possum the HT meds on empty stomach would help, but nope. I have decided to continue to give it to her by mouth though. I had some Blue Buffalo Tasfefuls cans from Tuni’s surgery. Gave them a can of that for their morning feeding to get by. Went out to Petco this afternoon and picked up some Fancy Feast Gourmet Naturals Turkey & Beef to test out. Carb: 3g. Not the 1.5g that Blue Wilderness was, but still low. Turkey was a hit, especially Petunia! She attacked it! Now to monitor to see how they react, aka hopefully NO PUKING!
If they also enjoy beef, should I do both? I’ve only given them one kind of food because just converting them to wet food in the beginning was hard and took a lot of trials of different flavors to finally have the chicken work. Maybe turkey in the AM and beef in the PM?
Well, we're gonna say YAY for Perunia eating and keeping nuernfoodmdown! Victory indeed!!
Now Possum,, you need t0 follow Tuni's lead....no puking!
Only thong I can offer regarding foodmos that, at least with dogs, switching foods can cause upset tummy, puking, etc. I've had dogs with cast iron tummies and switching was never a problem. I've had dogs where, even when introducing new foods so very slowly, they still puked at first.
Hopefully the turkey will be the hit for Possum now too and you won't jave to keep switching.

What did the vet say about the antinausea?
Remember, the golden rule, in GENERAL, is NOT to make more than one change at any time.ONE at a time so you know what is what and can pinpoint it. That is the greatest lesson our vet has taught us. If you make any changes, it's one thing at a time and monitor.
Ditto. Sally same in cats, and most of OUR cats have had the lovely iron guts, too;) Knock on wood, all but Saxton. I HAD to do food changes very slowly with him.
I would do one change at a time. Expect that I would be adding the course of antinausea for three days. The nice thing about Cerenia is it reduces inflammation, too, if there is any. The puking has gone on too long for too many days.
When is the supplement/med arriving?
I’d rather change the food first and see if the puking continue in the next couple of days and then do Cernia. I just don’t like that Tuni puked this AM, so that’s why I gotta see if it is the food. Although Tuni seems to throw up right before I feed them, whereas Possum pukes after she eats (not immediately after … like an hr or two). Also, I made an appt for Thursday to bring Possum in. So having 3 days on the new food will give me more information by the time of her appt.
