Thrilled to read this update! You know your boys so well and you are very intuitive with what works, what doesn't. Your Vet has helped keep the boys stay stable and healthy....along with you exquisite care....she answers your questions and explains why she goes one route versus the other. You also have a great "inner voice" that tells you what makes sense and what doesn't. You are with them 24/7 and have known them since birth....their history...their quirks...the fact that they both vomit periodically ever since you had them....and on and on.
Now everyone, get ready for the CUTENESS ALERT!!!! Edeard said Mignon and Jolie just finished their "snack" and are just as content and comfy as can be.

Hello:)
Communication with the vet has been improving, and I have, finally, a list of medications that Jolie is presently taking:
Esomeprazole for excess stomach acid
Metoclopramide for nausea
Mirtazapine for depression
Benazepril for hypertension
Amlodipine for hypertension
Kremezin for uremic toxins
Iron for anemia
I can now contact the CKD group with this and see if they have any recommendations:)
It was a good morning. When I went to work, Jolie and Mignon's condition seemed good.
Excellent job. Asking questions and getting answers!
Yes, post those & IF she gave the dosages, plus labs.
I linked your meds for further information with a little screenshot. For further reading hit the orange link.
The Mirtz is an antidepressant but is used for another purpose.

Brace yourself, Ed; you got one massive response on the ckd board. If you think I give a lot of info, wait until you see that!!!
Brillant information! I'm so pleased you received such a detailed, information-packed response and delighted that Jolie is barely in stage 2 CKD, not A 4. HUGE!!!! So much hope in that post. I have yet to complete the entire post, but I will !!! I LOVE they took so much time and added so much detail. Take in what you can. It does not all need to be absorbed at once. The post remains like ours here.
I 100% get it. It's a TON of info!!! It is a lot for me as well!
I hope the week continued to go well for both the boys!
Give them both a kiss from us, please!

Hello
Yes, I just read the ckd response. I am so glad it is only stage 2 but I am conflicted on how to discuss and augment treatments with the vet in Korea. It seems like they are even saying they don't really see a need for the iv's at this time.
Color me confused.
What should I do?
♡♡♡
I'll be back. I have to take purrkins to the vet. I need to read it ALL thoroughly.
I would be discussing it with the vet, and for one, download, if you haven't already, the IRIS treatment guidelines. That is what the board is referring to. There are ways to have this discussion and be politically correct with references and asking questions. Remember, they are not vets but live with this disease every day and know how to manage all this through trial and error and education and, yes, having productive discussions with their vets when needed. Always ask the questions with veterinarians' references behind you.
Here is the link be back later hang on that did not work

Dear "Confused"😉
First of all, I'm glad Julie's "staging" is at the lower end. That's excellent news.
The only thing I could suggest as far as discussing any of this with the vet is to ask for specific reasons why they feel like the IVs are not needed at this point. See if they can provide you examples of where cats and dogs they have treated similar to Jolie at this point we're not given IVs . You can ask at what point , or what "stage", they decide to do the IV. You can also ask maybe if it should be on every other day basis or something like that.

Oh! Got it!! Just ignore me! 😂
I confuse my own self all the time, so I can only imagine how confusing my feedback was to you!😱 ,
Holly has given great advice and suggestions on how to approach the vet. It would be wonderful if you could reduce the IV amount.👍
Maybe the Vet has a reason for the higher amount that will make sense....or not! Will be interesting to see if he agrees to a lower amount after you share the feedback on why a lower IV is suggested now.

I understood what you meant 100%. I have no idea why the link didn't work. It did when I placed it.
This one will work.

I will have more thoughts to add when I get the rest of that post read and all they linked to it. Either way, we start with the guidelines and ask questions, exactly as Sally has posted.
All vets have guidelines to go by and inquire why Jolie's treatment plan varies per his disease and see what she says. I do not understand where the 200 comes in with Jolie's heart. As I said before, that scares me to death. There is ZERO harm in asking questions & getting explanations.
Let's see if this works this time.
I'm so out of the loop on the CKD issues, but I totally know that asking questions about any treatment is part of being a great advocate. Which you ARE! And by respectfully asking why your vet wants to do things a certain way, you can keep the doors of communication open. If you are uncomfortable with the treatment suggestion, ask how your vet can meet halfway to an agreement, without doing harm to Jolie.
Hello All♡
First of all, I am very happy about a stage 2 re-diagnosis.
But I am concerned because it seems like the vet did a fairly serious misdiagnosis in assessing at stage four.
I am thinking this might be why Jolie was having extreme reactions to some of the medications.
I also will have to re-read everything to see how I should approach this with the vet
