Hmm, I wonder if you might be able to find a veterinary technician (nurse) at your current practice who can go over to give Jolie his meds on Saturday? Many vet techs here in the US have side jobs working after-hours in this capacity.

You will always have those what-ifs. Even if someone as an endless amount of money to spend on vet care, it still can't give us the confidence to know that we are 100% making the best decision and giving the best care to our pets. Trust your gut instinct, it says a lot.

Yes...I sure wish those kind of services were available here.

I'm going to finish early on saturday and I'll rush back home so I'll be able to do most of the meds and one iv.

It's an hour away by train

All the pictures of Julie and Mignon are so cute. Honest to goodness though, I think this has to rank top of the cute list. Be sure and cut up the volume so you can hear their adorable little kitty slurp slurp sounds.

Hello All

Both Jolie and Mignon slept thru the night without eating or going to the bathroom, which I thought strange because I don't think they have ever done that before.    When my alarm went off at 7, Mignon got up and peed and pooped but Jolie stayed on the couch sleeping.   The first thing I do when I get up is give Jolie his I.V., so I did, and as I was doing it, he kept licking my face.  When I think about it now, I wonder, was his licking me saying 'thank you' or 'please stop'?

After that I fed  them their snack tubes and feline greenies, which Mignon at but Jolie didn't.  Jolie seemed somewhat nauseous (just a gut feeling), so I gave him a Cerenia.  At that moment, Mignon started vomiting, so I cleaned that up and gave Mignon a Cerenia too.  Why do  they get sick at the same time??????

Then it was time for me to go to work.  I checked on them one more time and they seemed to have brightened up.  So I gave them some feline greenies, which they both readily ate with no vomiting afterwords.    When I went to work they were both sleeping.  They have not eaten their dry food yet today.   Hopefully, they will have eaten something by the time I get home.

I'm a little worried, but maybe things will be ok.  Is Jolie's cancer advancing?  Is his CKD getting worse?   Is Mignon suffering a relapse of pancreatitis?   What will tomorrow bring?

to be continued.....

[p.s. I hope you guys aren't getting tired of my posts!!!! ]

First of all, we never get tired of hearing about your two adorable cats!  Mignon  and Jolie are a very special part of our family here.

One thing for sure, they keep you on your toes.....never a full moment with these two.

There have been many times when one, or both, have been off food a little bit, or nauseous or a little more tired   every now and then. I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry or jump to scary  scenarios

As far as Jolie licking your face, I'm sure he was just giving you thank you kisses for taking such good care of him.🥰

Update us when you can.

Hugs

Hi Edward,

No we could never get tired of hearing about the boys! You can always come here to let us know how they are doing.

And that is so odd about their behavior! Could they have eaten something that made them sick?

I'm with Sally, don't jump to the worst case. If it helps to vent your worries here, do it. Just remember all that you've been through with them, and how far you've all come to reach a state of better health. These boys are strong and so are you!

Keep us posted.

Hello All♡

Fortunately, things seem to be OK today. Both Mignon and Jolie are eating and there has been no more vomiting.

They are both alert and just acting pretty normally.  Still and all, I realize the time for them to leave this world is not far away. The past year has been a long hard road. At least I have some comfort in knowing that I havevdone all that I can.

A recent development is that my landlord has sold the building where I live and I have until August 15 to find a place to move that accepts cats. So I have the worry of them adapting to a new space.

I am thankful that at least for today they are ok.

Ohhh good!  Was hoping for a good update and here it is! I knew I know you are relieved, as are we👍

Jolie and Mignon have taught you so much about living in the now.

am thankful that at least for today they are ok.

The now is all that matters.  Yes, they are here today and the to tomrrow will be handled  with love and care just like you have always done.

As far as the move, as long as they are with you and have all their wonderful beddings and snacks, they will be happy.👍

The past year has been a long hard road. At least I have some comfort in knowing that I havevdone all that I can.

Exactly 100%!!

Actually you have done far more than most are willing or able to do. This is why they have lived such happy lives, so full of love and joy for all these many, many years.

Now go get them some extra ear scratches for us, okay? And give yourself a pat on the back for being the best human a kitty could ever have!

Hugs

Edward that is such a relief! Good to know they were just having an "off day". We all do, right? The boys are back, yay!

I'm sorry you have to move, that adds more stress nobody needs! The boys will be happy though, as long as they are with their #1 human. It may take time for all of you to adapt but you are the strongest pride there is. Nothing is harder than what you have already been through. You have the emotional strength to overcome this latest challenge, and you can lean on us when things get tough.

Hello All♡

This is just to let you know that Jolie and Mignon have continued to do well. Mignon vomited alot a couple days ago and Jolie just seemed a little nauseous so I gave them both a cerenia. Other than that they are eating and pooping and playing well. Jolie has his monthly check-up next week and I hope his numbers have improved.

Take care everyone

Edward that is such terrific news! All signs point to LIFE IS GOOD with those two, and we are celebrating right along with you!

It's so fascinating how they are so in-sync with each other's gastrointestinal system. Glad the Cerenia is working. Let us know how that check-up goes!

P.S. Did you find a new place to live yet? Our paws are crossed!

Hello Everyone

I am glad to say that I have good news.

Jolie went in for his check up yesterday. His creatinine level went down to 180 (last check up it was over 300) and rbc went up to 43.

And there is a bonus good news. He gained 200 grams.

Always thanks everyone for your thoughts.

PS. I found a place to move to. It needs a little work but I think it will be OK.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY👏👏👍👍

Absolutely thrilled to hear this! We love getting good news around here, especially when it concerns Julie and Mignon! Thank you so very much for letting us know what's been going on. You guys are always in our thoughts and we are always hoping for the best.

Give them some extra treats for us okay and let us know how they adapt when you get into your new place. Or are you already there?
