Hey guys.. Thanks for checking

So we went to the vet on Monday and she said only time will tell how serious of an injury it is with her leg. It could be anything from soreness to a ligament pull. She prescribed Codeine so that Dior would sleep through the night and want to rest more during the day.

Tuesday: Monday going into Tuesday Dior was up all night panting and her heart was beating very fast. SHe whimpered all night long until I gave her her Gabepetin and Rimadol at 430 am. Within 45 minutes she was sound asleep. The dog sitter came over at 10:30 and I left for work at 12. Around 1:30 the dog sitter calls and reports the same symptoms I seen that night restlessness, panting, crying, and fast heart rate. She tried to snuggle with her but to no avail. At 230 I finally said give her her meds early and once again within 30-45 she is sound asleep. Her Codeine comes in at around 730 so we go on out last potty break (goes 1&2) eats and drinks when we come upstairs. Sits down and about 30 minutes later back to the panting and fast heart. I give her the Codeine thinking she will get good rest. Unfortunately, it was another restless night. She did not howl as much but sed. the panting and fast heart beating. Have I gone nuts? I just worry that it has spread to the lungs but we are only 1 week post amp and about 10 days post ultrasound.

No you're not crazy but it's likely not mets, just recovery ups and downs, it's very common. But I would definitely find some other pain management alternatives so that you can both get some sleep.

What is your vet's plan? How long did she say to give it until more diagnostics are done? Remember if you don't like the answers you can always get a second opinion, preferably from a pain management specialist.

Does Dior respond well to massage? You may want to try that to see how she does. This post may help. It's directed at helping phantom pain dissipate but you'll find it useful too:
