Rusty is getting stronger every day.  He has made his way back to his favorite chair and watching Cat TV (sliding glass door overlooks the deck).

THANK YOU ALL for all of your kind words and support.

Rusty "The Bunnyman" adopted us in 2014.  Aug/Sept 2017, back left leg amputated (HSA cancer).  He remained cancer free over 900 days. Cancer returned as of emergency visit on day 931. 15 days later, he gained his wings 04/18/2020 due to congestive heart failure.  He will always watch over his fellow tripawds and their hoomins with Head Scritches and Sand Paper Kisses.

Tiles:  We have a store Dollar Tree that sells them for $2.50 each. Also fitness stores, and some of warehouse stores like BJs, Costco or Sam’s club sell them. I also saw them on Amazon. They have some that look like wood floors!  They are more expensive but cool!

search: foam tiles.

foam interlocking tiles (wood look)

the steps in the bedroom (4 step cloth covered) I got at Petco. I have bought more on Amazon too.   Those were plastic, very easy to assemble. You can see them in the latest pic I put on the blog.

I have steps going up to bed, chairs, couches... anywhere he may go. 😊. I bought a spare set in case I missed somewhere.

Thank you very much! I will look into those.  The bed in our room is tall,  and some of the floors downstairs are slick.  This will help when he gets full run of the house.  Then I will just need to learn how to get out the door without opening it, lol. Have a good night!

Update From Rusty...

It has been one week since since Mommy and Daddy  took that silly cone off me. What a relief!  I can finally eat all the treats I want without ‘saving’ any for later in my cone. I am getting up onto the bed, couch and my favorite chair using my stairs. 😺 It is still awkward when I walk but I keep getting faster.   I am still trying to figure out how to use my scratching pad’s. I used to be able to scratch with my front paws with my butt high in the air!  Now when I try to do that I lose my balance. I wind up scratching laying down. It’s just not the same. 😿Mommy has bought new scratching contraptions for me. I am not sure about them yet.  Mommy bought honeysuckle spray to help me get used to them. (I don’t react to catnip.) We will see as time goes on. Maybe I’ll try them out but not now. They still make me nervous.

Mommy  and Daddy still don’t understand that I am ready to go upstairs and make sure my cousins didn’t mess anything up when they visited me last week. They keep telling me to wait something called Two More Weeks. I tried to open the door but they have done something to it so it won’t open. 😾 I lay in front of it and stare at them but they don’t get the hint.  I thought I had smart parents, now I am not so sure.

I know Mom was really nervous when I was cleaning that strange new part of my body where she says I had stitches (whatever they are) but I am a clean boy!  I needed to catch up on almost a month of not bathing🙀!  I think everything is ok.

I love to spend hours on Mommy and Daddy’s bed. Sometimes I lay in the middle and share it with them. Sometimes I want special attention and lay so only one of them can there with me and give me ALL the lovings. Good thing the couch is comfy for them to sleep on.  😸

When I am not laying on the bed or in my favorite chair, I sometimes go back in my crate. I heard Mommy talking about taking it down but I’m not sure yet. I hope she’ll leave my blanket in the closet where the crate is. I like laying in there. It’s quiet.

Mommy and daddy said I have a doctors appointment scheduled for November 28, 2017. I hope I can make them proud and be healthy and strong and when I go.

Mommy updated my Rusty the Bunnyman blog with some pictures from the past week. Hope you enjoy!

Rusty it’s still very soon you will figure out your new stance at scratching I guarantee you will figure it out buddy! It takes a little bit of time for you to get used to doing all things on 3 but rest assured you will!

Rusty tell Mom you are ok to clean that area now, we know its been far too long for you not to clean that area. I’m sure your ok!!😸

We will be sending you pawsitive thoughts for a good check up Rusty, you have already made your Mom & Dad & us at Tripawds super proud no worries there!! See those a trophy🏆 & a gold medal for you Rusty🥇

Thanks Guys!

It's okay. Mommy was telling me and Daddy about a new tripawd that's been keeping everyone busy on here...Raven!  Wow, she has a LOT of energy!  She makes me look like I did nothing to try to get out.

I will try to be patient and practice scratching!

Don't tell Mommy but when she was on her business trip last week, Daddy gave me breakfast in bed THEIR BED. He loves me.

Hey Rusty, it's great you are getting around so well and even having breakfast in bed! You've trained Dad well.

Mona loves the cardboard scratching boxes the best. Particularly the wavy ones like this:

Catit Style Scratcher with Catnip Tiger (Amazon, US)

Catit Style Scratcher with Catnip Tiger (Amazon Canada)

Catit Style Scratcher with Catnip Tiger (Amazon UK)

There are even ones with more waves. She has 3 styles and likes them all. Every time Mona comes in the house or wakes up or after eating she scratches. She'll even go downstairs to scratch at 3:00 am. She sits on it and scratches away and then sometimes she sleeps on them or just watches the birds outside. She'll rarely uses the upright carpet/rope ones since getting the cardboard ones. Mona only has the one front leg and scratches so hard sometimes that she raises the front of the box, whump, whump, whump. My other cat Eli doesn't use these but has a special log he uses outside of the patio door.

Obviously your cozy crate gives you comfort. Maybe you'll give it up in time when you are more confident.

I look forward to more photos.

Hugs to all,

Kerren and Tripawd Kitty Mona

Update From Rusty...

‘Ello Rusty!

My names Chester McFiend😼 (aka Chester Molester🙀, Monkey Man🐒 &/or 💩head!!!😹) Me and my sister, Miss Lily (Pfffft & what a little Missy she is! but she serves my purpose right now... She and I have decided to hijack the Feline Forums! I mean really what do dogs know about Feline rules?! (We asked old Spikey, but he figured we would have it all under control, but he said he is available, with all his wisdom, to answer any questions we might have for him!)

So Rusty, I have been hearing all about you and holy cow you’re strong mate and smart too! I think I would go snaky if I had a lamp shade on my head for weeks at a time, Never mind being so ingenious as to hiding treats in them! Your Mum sure loves you to put stairs everywhere! You’re as lucky as Purrrrrrkins! Hmmmmm I’m going to ask my Mum for some Honeysuckle spray, I hope she’s smart enough to find some... her nose isn’t as good as mine. She should take me shopping with her!

Aaack, no stress over the scratch pad mate, you’ll get to that, there’s far more interesting things to learn as a Tripawd! Stewie started a Top 💯 List for Tripawds, you may have seen it, but quite a few of his suggestions can apply to you Super Kitty Tripawds! For sure... like Even MORE TREATS!! MORE SNUGGLE TIME!! MORE CHIN & EAR RUBS!! GETTING TO SLEEP WHEREVER YOU WANT!! Being able to  SEND YOUR PAWRENTS TO THE COUCH FOR TIME OUT!! MEALS IN BED WITH DAD!! LOTS OF WET YUMMY FOOD!! And the list goes on, you’ve got this dude! I did tell Stewie he is going to have to update his Top 💯 list!

WHY DO PAWRENTS THINK IT IS OKAY TO CLOSE DOORS ON THEIR CATS???!!! Don’t they realize that we are curious creatures?! We have to know what is going on in every crook and cranny of our kingdoms and then when we are satisfied that we have found the most cozy, dark and out of reach cave, then that is where we want to be sometimes! But DONT SHUT THE DOORS, we may want to change spots in 5 minutes! We always want The puuurrrfect place to be and if that means kicking your younger sister out of it, or even your older brother, then what is done must be done! (although I don’t bug Spikey Man much anymore, he really is getting old, I feel very bad for him!) I think you should lay Animal Abuse charges against your Hoomans for making your room inescapable!!!😾 Rascals! AND Not letting you bathe for a Month?! SOUND THE ALARMS & RELEASE THE HOUNDS!!! Good thing you send them to the couch sometimes... obviously they need time out!

Mommy and daddy said I have a doctors appointment scheduled for November 28, 2017. I hope I can make them proud and be healthy and strong and when I go.

YOU GOT THIS DUDE!!! Look at how far you have come! Your pawrents couldn’t be more proud!!! Wow even in my mind YOURE A SUPER HERO!!I’ve seen what my big brother Stewie has gone through Mate! It’s not an easy journey whether your a cat or a dawg!clap

Mommy updated my Rusty the Bunnyman blog with some pictures from the past week. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks to Holly for putting up your URL for your blog. I’ll read it with Mum when we’ve caught up on our friends’ forums!

Al the best for now and until next time,

Chesterfield! (I like this lazy name for myself😽), Mr. Spike, Priss Lily! (Oops, I mean Miss Lily😹 and our massive brother Super Stu! Mum & Dad send hugs and cuddles and stuff too k? heart

On July 10/17 I became a Super Tripawd! You can find out more about my Pawrents Allensong but first Check out my 🎗 journey Super Stu Remember...“live in the moment!“
