Update:
No chemo! From what they can currently tell, Cancer completely removed. Now just do checks every few months for the first year then can spread out.

Stitches are out. Area is a little scabby so they said keep the cone for another week BUT he can be cage free!!!

Rusty "The Bunnyman" adopted us in 2014.  Aug/Sept 2017, back left leg amputated (HSA cancer).  He remained cancer free over 900 days. Cancer returned as of emergency visit on day 931. 15 days later, he gained his wings 04/18/2020 due to congestive heart failure.  He will always watch over his fellow tripawds and their hoomins with Head Scritches and Sand Paper Kisses.

Rusty!! You have such a loud purr when you eat!

You have such great news this week. The cancer went with the leg. Good riddance. Soon the cone will be gone too.

Happy healing.

The first 48 hours of Cage Free living update

From Rusty:

hi guys! So, last night I was back on “Mouse Patrol”. Not that Mommy and Daddy have any mice 🐁 but that is just because I am so good at my job!

Then, after a hard’s night shift, I went to sleep on Mommy and Daddy ‘s bed. I used my special stairs and got up and down all on my own!!! Mommy made me a 'bumper' so I wouldn't get too close to the edge since I am a little awkward with the cone.

I tried to convince them I am strong enough to go upstairs but they didn’t let me go. I was not happy about that.

I am eating like a good boy but can’t wait for this cone to be off!!!

I was doing a lot of internet searches when we learned what was going on with our furbaby and this was the best one I came across.

This is an awesome group of people.  Feel free to share any concerns or ask any questions.  They have provided excellent advice and just general moral support for me.
