Oh Sally .. you are so sweet to extend this invitation!!! Thank you SO much. I suspect me and Jasper Lily might be a bit tired after our long travel day but we do look forward to meeting you Saturday for the first day of the party! such a gracious host!!! I already love the south.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
I understand completely Alison!!! ABSOLUTELY UNDERSTAND....and I know I would have t opt out too if I was doing all thst traveling!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
ust want to say to you travelers....I completely understand if it's waaaay too much to try and get out here......and "out here" is pretty rural and quite a bit of distance from the rental houses!
Just trying to say, yes it would be great if all the people coming in Friday could make it AND I understand COMPLETELY if it makes for wayyyy too long a day!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 I mean thst, okay???
We'll ALL be getting together several different times during this EPIC event!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Soooooooooo excited!!!!! Like "heart racing" excited!!!
ELOZABETH....I know you like Kool Aid so I'll jave some of that too! 🙂
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
question - I know DC is supposed to be super pet friendly but does anyone know if dogs or dogs with service vests can ride on the metro? Jasper and I will be in DC Monday night and fly back to LA late Tuesday afternoon and I wanted to see some of the sites around there too (anyone for a photo of Jasper at the white house?!?! ).
From my years of traveling back and forth to DCA for work ... I never really left the hotel or the office but I recall it being more of a 'subway' town vs a driving your car and parking it town so I would like to unload the rental car Monday afternoon!
Thoughts from the DC / MD / VA people?

WOW!!! SOOOOOOO MANY EXCITING THINGS TO SEE IN DC 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 I wouldn't even begin to say what to see! I would check into a lttle tour thing where maybe you could do the White House, the Smithsoian,'the Washinton Monument....sooooo many incredible things!
And YES!!! We MUST have Jasper Lily's photo at the WH! Or in front of anything historical! "Jasper Lily tours DC!!!"
Maybe DC Jack (Sarah) can chime in!
My beloved Aunt and Uncle actually started the Women's Museum of Art in Washinton....or Women's Art Museum....something like that. I think it's pretty much in the heart of all that stuff! I'm ....er...not exactly "in the loop" with that level of.....er....philanthropy!!! 🙂
CANNOT WAIT TO SEE JASPER LILY's TOUR OF WASHINGTON!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 So exciting!!

Let the countdown BEGIN! Sure do wish everyone here on this site could be there. We will sure miss those of you who couldn't make it. Know you all will be with us in spirit as will all your Angels who we will honor! I will be doing Max's ribbon at the meetup. It's time he joins all the other Angels who were so loved on the tribute leash. We'll take lots of pictures! Safe travels to everyone coming!
I got the "LEASH PACKAGE" today from Martha and Karen. Thanks ladies! It's truly sacred.
Elizabeth and I would REALLY like to have the cell phone numbers of at least the "designated" drivers, PREFERABLY. EVERYBODY!!! A lot of coordination will be going on if some one to do sight seeing, or antiguing, or tatooing...or just meeting up for lunch or whatever!! We want to do everything possible to make this such aa great experience for everyone 🙂 🙂 🙂
You can just PM us and we'll, of course, send you ours.
Also, although I cannot imagine any unforseen hurdles coming up, it's always good to plan for them just in case! If Rockwood Park all the sudden had to close for some bizzare reason, we'd need to be able to communicate with EVERYONE attending!!
Also, I'd like to coordinate further with those attending my little "gathering" at my home Friday 🙂 🙂 It depends on who wants to stop by and have a little down time with some wine and ice cream (:-) as far as the time span.
I'm kinda thinking I can have it spread over several hours. That way if some want to come in and unwind after traveling, they can. Or if they want o come out later they can.
My plan is to make it an outside event (for the most ) under some magnificent shade trees I have. I'll have a nice little comfy area set up with hammocks and lawn chairs and a table of some light goodies and some Southern wine ---- MOONSHINE (kidding)And I have some really good "entertainment" planned....compliments of Nature and her wildlife!! We can watch the deer come for their corn 🙂 We can watch the Racoons and Possums come eat the cat food:-) We can listen to the night song of the Whip-O- Wills. AND, of course, everyone can take a sneak peek at Baby Vulture Vivian and Baby Vulture Valentino 🙂
And, as a special gift for everyone, I have a kitten, or two or three, for EVERYONE! 🙂 🙂
Lots of love!!!! Almost time!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
PS....So far, I think we have Michelle, Linda, Elizabeth, Tina, Cassie and Alex

Oh! And in terms of what to do with Jasper in tow, walking around the monuments - especially from the Washington->Lincoln->MLK->Thomas Jefferson is a beautiful afternoon activity. Rock Creek Park and Meridian Hill Park are also wonderful places to walk. Most places in DC will allow dogs on patios if you're eating there - Jack and I used to eat at Glen's Garden Market in DC quite often, and Rasika West End, one of Michelle Obama's favorite restaurants, allows them on the patio as well. Finally, Art and Soul near the Capitol has a full dog menu for dogs eating on the patio.
Let me know if you want any other recommendations on Saturday - happy to help!
Ok Sally i will email you & elizabeth my phone. We will have to check in at the house and grocery shop before heading your way. 🙂 Don't go overboard with the party at your house 🙂 We just want to all see you
I am really getting excited/nervous LOL. I hope my little suitcase doesn't weigh over 50 pounds. its pretty heavy I wouldn't think it would.
2 days left of work not counting today.
xoxoxo

We (me, Sarah, and my fiance, Nabil) will be there on Saturday with Miss Jack. I cannot wait!
I mentioned this already, but just wanted to put it out there again - she's afraid of new people at first and dogs if they are trying to sniff her. So, we'll keep her apart from dogs and she'll let you know when she's ready for interaction. It only takes her a minute, but ignoring her makes her trust you immediately.
No problems Sarah, we'll have more than a few pups with....er.....issues! We'll have plenty of "dog wranglers" to help keep "space" between dogs as needed!
See ya Saturday YAY!!!!

AND PS - Jasper too is a little 'iffy' on bigger dogs.. she is super friendly but does get growlies so I'll have to be cautious with her. But she's a total love of ALL people ... it's dogs she's rather unsure of. I'll have her carrier (and I think Elizabeth is bringing a pen) so if she needs a time out. But she also loves laps so her time out can be on a lap!
