Hey all, sorry for the slow update.
Ive been allowed to reopen my shop (thank god) and hopefully start to replenish the bank accounts. We've been working 10-12 hours a day to catch up so fortunately were busy m
Anyway I need some current pics but I'll get to those this weekend at the latest. We got the biopsy report and it is for sure osteosarcoma. Ziva got her stiches out Wednesday and that went super smooth. My primary care Vet recommended a natural health vet and we are going to start Ziva on a regiment of natural products to help build her immune system and so forth before we decide on her chemo treatment plan.
We picked up a shopping cart full of supplements including mushroom stuff CBD oil and three or four others. We will keep her on. Out of these for however long she has left with us. So probably in a week or so is when her chemo should start.
So I'm the meantime she's happy, mostly healthy and getting better on three everyday!!!
Yaaay! This is a great update for both of you, I'm so happy things are better for both of you and your business too. Thanks for taking time to stop by and update.
That is a bummer to get the osteosarcoma confirmed, but I love the way your vet thinks and how they referred you to the integrative vet. When you get a chance you'll have to let us know more about the supplements in our"Eating Healthy" forum or Ziva's blog (or both!). We are always curious to find out what new supplements members are trying.
Happy, mostly healthy and getting better is PAWESOME!!!

Hi Steve! Ditto what Jerry said - I'd love to learn more about the supplements that you are using with Ziva - please share when you can. I'm so happy for you being able to reopen your shop, and I'll be Ziva loves coming to work with you. I'll look forward to more photos this weekend! Stay safe! ~ Stacy
Griffin lived an amazing life for 11 years! Diagnosed with osteosarcoma on March 17, 2020, Griffin's right forelimb was amputated on April 2, 2020. Ten days later he was running and playing fetch! Lung metastasis discovered in July 2020 did not slow down Griffin and he lived joyfully for the next 7 months, passing peacefully at home on February 11, 2021. https://griffin.tripawds.com
Yay for stitches out!
A note of caution on the supplements- I would talk with the oncologist before you start changing her diet- especially if chemo will start in only a week.
A couple of reasons- one is that you want to be sure nothing you are giving her is contra-indicated with the chemo. Second is that if anything you are giving her messes with her tummy and you start chemo you won't know if it's the supplements or the chemo causing problems. I was cautioned about diet changes while Maggie was doing her chemo.
Don't get me wrong- I'm all for trying anything that will help! I've gone the holistic route two out of three cancer journeys so I believe strongly in the power of alternate pathways. Just a heads up.

So here we are about 16 days post op.
Ziva is doing great and she is off all pain meds.
We have started her on some natural supplements.
Our primary care Vet put us in touch with Dr Wolf who specializes in natural remedies.
Ziva is taking the following:
turkey tail mushroom 550mg twice a day.
Colostrum 500mg twice a day
Vitamineral Green 1tsp twice a day.
Stamets 7 1/2tsp twice a day
CBD oil per weight of animal twice a day.
So far the only thing I notice is now she farts a lot and they are nasty lol. But if it help I’m ok with that.
So basically my primary vet also will be her chemo doctor if we go that route. Dr. Wolf is her natural supplement doctor and a good friend of our primary care vet is an oncologist. These three have been working together for years so I think we’re in great hands.

That's great! Sounds like an awesome team. Go Team Ziva!

Hey Steve,
That's a great update! It sounds like Ziva has a really good team behind her. We wish her luck once the chemo treatments start. And to echo what's already been said, I'd be interested in hearing about how the supplements work out for her.
Also, congrats on getting the business opened back up!
