Hey everyone Bailey is doing much better. She's being soooo silly…. I love when she is back to herself and feeling good. The onco said give it a few days use baby wipes to clean her after her business outside. Sooo that's my duty and it's pretty comical sliding under her and cleaning her under carriage… no I will not post a picture… she just stands there.
I wanted to thank everyone for all the support and feedback. Bailey will go for round 4 on the 22nd and saying prayers all goes well. We finally found a food that she likes and it's the Blue Buffalo Wilderness – Fish/Salmon… she actually runs to her food bowl! Yeah!!!
OK so I'm trying to post a picture… I'm not really good at this part.
Thanks everyone.

Sending hugs,
Joan and Lily
Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.
My Dearst Bailey!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! You look sooooooo happy and sooooooo pretty!! I'm so glad you are feeling better and eating so well!
It just boogles my mind why you are having such a reaction to the chemo. First time for everything.....just sorry that it had to be you to add this new "side effect" to the chemo!!
Now Bailey, we are all really cheering for you, okay? We want you to sail through this fourth chemo without any "issues" and quit giving us a little scare!!
And your mom jas to keep posting more photos of you! You are such a pretty girl! Your personality comes shining through each picture. Anf that smile of yours....yeah, we're grinning back!
Happy Hannah sent a message tonyou, "Be sure and holdout for that scoop of ice cream on top of your Bue Buffalo Wilderness!! It has a lot of healing powers and counter-acts the effects of chemo!! "
Sending lots of love and pawsitive energy!
Sally and Happy Hannah
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Thanks for the great update! She looks so happy.

OK HAPPY TEARS! I SURE WISH ALL OF YOU LIVED CLOSE SO WE COULD HAVE A GROUP HUG!!!
Everyone on here is an inspiration and keeps me up when some times I just want to lose it. I know HAPPY HANNAH is looking down and holding Bailey and I up, she's such an inspiration and man was she a fighter. Much love to Sally f being everyone's cheerleader, you have touched us all. To all my other tripawds that I continue to get responses from and that I PM... Joan and Lily I continue to ask 5 million questions... I thank you. I know we aren't out of the jungle per se but she's fighting the fight... what a difference a week makes.
GOD BLESS ALL OF MY TRIPAWD FAMILY.
I sincerely mean it when I say you all hold me up... there's times I sign on and I read a post and I just cry and go sit in my closet so I don't upset Bailey. This is not fair, it stinks. But we are all in this together and I don't want anyone to go away. Thanks for all the support and we will update on the 22nd!
MANY MANY HUGS,
Love,
Tracy and Bailey

(((((HUGS))))) back at you.
Having a real emotional day. Daughter graduated Sunday and hasn't come home yet because she has her lease until July... she's my only one. My fur babies are my life. Bailey goes this week for 4th round of chemo. I try to be brave each and every time but I just get emotional and I know it works Bailey up. I just wish I knew what the urine thing was and why that happens... I just want someone to come up with a cure. (Doesn't everyone!)
My Bella is so lumpy, she's 10 and started her on the K-9 Plus, probably too late because she is starting wobblers. Our vet wants her to lose weight she's 152... she is just so happy and loves her food. I know if she was x-rayed she probably has all kinds of stuff going on, but until she shows me a sign she's not getting examined. She has a cough like a old man every now and then not even once a month and has a bunch of lumps but I love her all the same. My vet thinks they are just fatty tumors as dogs some time get with old age... he could biopsy them, but why? I'm not putting her through anything. My biggest fear is I'm going to lose them both at once and I lost my Dalmatian to old age 14 in October... just not fair is it. Cancer sucks. I know I shouldn't think like that I pray every night that God continues to give them good quality of life and more time with me.
Bailey she goes up and down she was a bouncy nut case last week and over the weekend and now she's not interested in her food... today she did eat and started her walking(hopping) to the great room and up it came. That's the first time that has happened.
Is there anything better than carboplatin? I want to do something different but I just don't know how are where to turn.
I read and read and spend hours on here and I just don't get it as far as what everyone is talking about.
OK you can tell 'm having a moment. Sally would tell me to go eat chocolate... I wish I had some in the house.

I siggested this in yor PM...there's no arm in delahing the chem a coupe ore days...especially is she's puking.
Okay...this is what we do here....describe the puke....does she eat grass maube?? Sometimes thjat makes them puke...actualy, most all the time!
Yes, all this stuff is VERY, VERY confusing.

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Sally is so right, you just have to step back and remember, you are doing the best you can for her out of love and her well-being. Nothing is ever too late if it's done with the best intentions, you're doing fine. As you've noticed, ;like all dogs she is reflecting your worry; remember that if you're strong and confident, she will be too.
Carboplatin is the gold standard as far as treating osteosarcoma but it doesn't mean it's the only thing you can do to help. Take a "full spectrum" approach as Dr. Dressler says and you'll feel stronger and more optimistic than ever.
Meanwhile not sure what you mean by

Hi! I loved the start of this feed. She's SO pretty and seems happy! I got Sally's PM and here I am. I'm no expert, that for sure, but here's what it sounds like to me:
Bailey doesn't react well to carbo. Continuing with it is up to you. Are her bad days and stressful side effects worth it? It sounds like it, since you've gone ahead with 3 so far. But, sometimes side effects get worse as time goes on... Tomorrow may be toughest on her. Good luck! If you do decide to proceed, maybe leave it at 4 only? There's some evidence that shows there's no difference between 4 and 6 doses. We did 5, because it made me sleep better. Plus, Jackson had no probs with chemo. I think if he had the side effects like Bailey, we'd only do 4, too. Maybe only 3... I guess the good thing is that now you know some of her side effects and can freak out less. That gives some comfort. After IV chemo, you could pursue metronomics , which may give you a sense of comfort too.
Good luck tomorrow and the days after! She's too cute, too pretty to not feel well!
~ Katy & Jackson
ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ! No side effects. We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments. He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors! Our love. Our funny little guy!

Excellent advice, thanks for bringing this up Katy. Yes, more and more oncos are switching back to 4 carboplatin doses now.
