Oh, Sally, yesterday I was sure I had found a suture. I picked something bluefish/ green out of his wound. I thought I had found a suture part. It was just a piece of that blanket he is on. Well the other matching one. I got 2 to keep them clean. That was what I meant about the blanket.

TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed  and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.

Ty is a very handsome Lab, and his eyes are just beautiful.....although I have to admit to a Lab bias. I am so hoping he will start to get past this and feel so much better very soon. I am thinking about him everyday.......

DRAT!! I thought we were really onto something with the "mysterious green thing"!!

Hmmmmm......onto possibility number 653.....or is it 785...?? Okay, the temperature thing...even though it goes up and down...and seems to not cause any "huge" problems even when it hits 103 ish plus....maybe as long as it doesn't go much past that's just sort of how Ty rolls now. Maybe it's somehwat of a new norm??? And maybe...just maybe...if he had some at-home fluids maybe nce or twice a week, t would make him feel better over-all and then maybe he would eat more consistently...thus givi g him ore enrgy, etc., etc.clap

Yeah...just throwing some other "way off base theory" up against the wall to see if it sticks!clown

Okay...he "could" still jave a suture...as well as green blankie thread! Could.....maybe.....still possible.

Ty my man, you sure have us baffled...but not beaten!! We're gonna' get a solution!!!

Hey, and don't be stingy with those pictures.....he's just exquisitely handsomez,!

Hugs and love!

Sally and Happy Hannah

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

I would LOVE to get some at home fluids for him. Do they do that?? He has eaten nothing but a couple of these blueberry treats he likes. Drank though. Ate snow. He ate so much yesterday< maybe his belly is upset. I do feel like his whole digestive system is sluggish. Probiotics not helping a lot and he will no longer eat pumpkin. He is suspicious of anything I give him now. Also today I reached for him and he flinched. I think he thought I was going to do something more to his sore spot. He has NEVER been treated in a way that would cause him to flinch. Now he has to feel afraid I will touch something that will hurt him. Breaks my heartcrying I feel so bad for him, he has suffered for a long time. First the bone pain while waiting....... now this while once again waiting.....so sick of waiting. Vet called back no word on biopsies yet. said to keep doing what I am doing. Feel like I am doing nothing. Feel helpless to help him. Sally check out his pics on the anything goes forum. I am going to put cold compresses on my boy now.

Yes indeedy you can do fluids at home! They give you an IV bag, needles, the whole shabang! They'll show you how to doit.....you just pull up some looseskin, put the needles in the space created under the skin, leave it there, start the IIV, do the appropriate amont...bingo bango..dne!

Iould always do it when the dogs were loungng around, laying down. would just c tiue to gently rub and massage the area I was goi g to "poke"..usually the skin arou d the top of the neck area.

As far as eating, remember Ty isn't exerting much energy right now so to eat every other day, while it's not ideal, isn't horrible either.

Domyou have so eone else who could do the compresses, meds, feeding etc. for a day or so? Let them be the "nurse" like Nurse Lucy and you can just be free to love on him. Sometimes we can get so caught up in being the "caregiver", we forget to make time for just loving moments free of tasks!

Keeping all paws crossed!

LOVE!!

Please don't think you aren't doing anything, you are going to the ends of the earth for your amazing boy, and your love and dedication shows. Slow and steady wins the race etc., you will get there!!
