Hey it went through. What's going on with posting? We thought we had fixed the issues and haven't had any issues the last few days. Please message us so we can help.

Meanwhile, I'm not a vet so take this for what it's worth but I would never give a dog ace when phantom pain is suspected, so you did good. Ace has so many drawbacks, especially for anxious dogs, and it's not a pain reliever or indicated for use in this kind of situation. I stay far away from it personally. Not sure why he recommended oxycodone, never heard of it being used for phantom pain . Did he say why?

Did your vet recommend anything like acupuncture?

He wanted to try Ace for basically sedation purposes, since Loki is having about 3-6 episodes upon going to bed (anytime he gets up an episode of what I posted on video happens.
The oxycode for pain, but Everything I have read its nerve pain, or however it's presented as such.

I have found no relief, he has an episode every single time he moves at night, and almost every time he gets up during the day.

I got laser therapy today, and scheduled for more next week. I will most likely try acupuncture next.

He walks fine, eats fine, it's when he gets up.

I also got a calming collar and thunder shirt, not to say either will work, but when your desperate to take the pain away, you (I) would sell my soul to the devil to do so.

This is so disheartening and frustratingly hard for you to see.

Just throwing a crazy thought out there. Since it's when he gets up, for the most lart, just wondering if it could be a pinched nerve in his back or so ething bizarre like that?

And another weird one to throw out there. Can't recall the exact scenario, but it seems that one dog on here had an internal stitch causing havoc by digging into a nerve...or something like that. It does seem like it was a rogue stitch that had been left in.

A suggestion...post this issue Loki is having under "Ask a Vet". Possibly she could offer some help. Usually the Gabapentin can help phantom limb pain.

I'm really sorry you and Loki are having to deal with this. It is good to know that otherwise he is on track for a good recovery. This pain will have an ending. It will subside and dissipate.

Yes, we would all try anything to take the pain away. If it causes no harm, try it! Keeping all.paws crossed for a quick resolution. Hang in there! You are doing an an amazing job!

Sending hugs to Loki and all his wonderful pack!
