Four different vets now, including the consulting Oncologist from U of MN, have now been pretty clear on the recommendation that for significantly improved odds for delaying or preventing recurrence of his grade 3 of 3 STS Nerve Sheath Tumor, the only real option is radiation.  Everyone has been subtle and not pushy, but the studies are clear.

CT is being scheduled.  I could still change my mind after that.

But anyone who has opted for this treatment and wants to fill me in on what to expect, we would greatly appreciate it.

Lisa way-confused and Pofi

Lisa, Minneapolis

On October 27, 2016, nearly 6 months after amputation, and 18 months since his cancer likely started, we lost Pofi to a recurrence of Soft Tissue Sarcoma in his spine quite suddenly.  His canine sister also succumbed to cancer on March 1, 2019 - we lavished her with our love in the interim, but life was never quite the same without her only real canine friend. Cliff kitty had to leave us, too, suddenly, in August 2019. Lucia kitty grieved all these losses, but helped us welcome two new Lurchers into our home and our lives, Shae and Barley.

Hi Lisa and Pofiheart

I have no experience re radiotherapy but wanted to send you a big hug anywayheart

It seems you are well advised and that is such a relief, isn't it? The worse would be if you didn't have enough info or didn't trust the advice of the professionals around you (my girl was misdiagnosed by four vets!) luckily that is not the case!

Wish I could help more but I'm sure others will join in with good advice.

Sending you and gorgeous Pofi lots of kisses and cuddles xx
