I am so thrilled to hear Valentina will be coming home. Those words are music to my ears. Keep us posted on her progress.

Oh, this is great news! I have all fingers and paws crossed that Valentina will heal quickly now!
It's nice also to see you are feeling better, mom. Good news and rest does wonders!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
You might find that Valentina has a hard time balancing on a squishy bed. My tripawd Rumbles avoids his big fluffy bed now and prefers just a low mat with a pillow for his head. If he does want to try the fluffy bed, I always give him a little help getting on and off of it.
This progress is WONDERFUL! Yaaaay!!!!
I agree with rumblesmom, big squishy beds care harder for most Tripawds, but just keep an eye on her to see what she prefers. Hopefully the elbow area will calm down. You can try putting an ice pack on it for a few minutes a couple of times a day (be sure to put a towel around the ice pack first).
Good luck today!!!! Keep us posted.

Yay! So glad she gets to come home today! I've been hoping you'd get some good news soon!
Diagnosed with OSA: 5/2/2011 Ampuversary: 5/11/2011 OSA returned in hip: 8/26/2011
Chili Dawg crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 8/30/2011 & is now pain free. He was my heart dog, and I miss him every day.
Valentina is home!!! I thought she would get right on her bed when she got here but she did lay on the floor for the first couple of hours. She just got up and got on her bed a few minutes ago and she looks really comfortable. I blocked off the room because the vet said to keep her confined and I put blankets all over the floor so the drainage didn't get on the carpet. It is still draining but it is much less than before. The vet said that the irrigation is really helping. She has an appt. to go back on Sunday for another irrigation. Hoping and praying that this is a turn around for Valentina. She is such a wonderful dog!! Thank You everyone for you support and kind words. I don't know what I would have done all this time without this site. Hearing other people's stories and advice is a fantastic help!! Knowing that I am not alone at this challenging time and having people to talk to about it that truly understand and care what I am going through is priceless!!! Thank You So Very Much!!!
Hooray! So glad to hear you have your girl back home!
Hope she recovers quickly,
Jackie, Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Valentina is home!!! Happy Day!!! We're so happy to hear that you are all doing better. Bo has the same sort of reddish area on his remaining front elbow. I think it is just a sort of bruise from laying on it so much. Bo is stubborn and won't lay on any of the doggie beds/rugs/carpets. Probably laying on something softer would help, but it doesn't seem to bother him.
Keep giving us updates...we're so happy to hear Valentina is doing well!!

Here are detailed instructions for adding images to forum posts. If you do not already share photos online somewhere (flickr, facebook, etc.), the easiest way may be to start a blog so you can upload them there.

Valentina had a restful night. She slept in the same position all night. She didn't move once. Of course you know that I am still keeping a hawk eye on her. She ate all of her dinner last night and all of her breakfast this morning. The drainage is alot less but it is still a pain.It doesn't leak when she is laying down but when she walks around it drips here and there so I have to run around trying to clean it up. I did put some blankets down but I still don't want to step in it or for her to lay in it. It's hard to see it and not clean it up. But she is still doing alot of sleeping. She probably didn't get really good sleep when she was at the vet. I keep reminding myself that she has made progress so that is good! Before when she was laying down it was still just pouring out so this is much better. Still trying to stay positive even though some other obstacles have gotten in my way. My 11 year old daughter has pink eye and it's the weekend and the DR. office is closed and my Doberman Emalee is having one of her annual summer allergy outbreak and she is miserable with itching. We have a huge fenced in yard just for the dogs and I have to take Emalee out on a leash to go potty because she is terribly allergic to the grass and she loves to roll in it. Many different approaches to her allergies have been taken and none work. The only thing that works is when it starts to get cold outside and then her allergies disappear. Still trying to decide whether to take my daughter to an emergency place for her eye or wait till Monday. Meanwhile she is putting teabags on her eye. It's a good thing I am a stay at home Mom because I don't know how I would be able to go to work and deal with all of this too. Trying to keep my head above water. We live in Maryland.
Glad to hear Valentina is resting and the draining is starting to subside.
I fought the allergies with Trouble from the time she was a pup. I know how hard that road is. Hers seemed to do better after the chemo, I have no idea why.
