Eating, drinking, pooping, peeing and being mobile...all good signs!  Resting is how Abbie is healing her body.

Is she engaged?  Alert?  Getting tail wags yet?   One thing you might try is to jave someone  come over that she likes.  Get all excited and upbeat and have that person make a grand entrance.  Make a really big deal out of it.  Sometimes  a new energy is helpful.

Hard to be patient. We get it.  But everything  sounds pretty normal for this early on.

Keep us posted, okay?  She'll be getting her sparkle back little bit by little bit.

Hugs

Actually she sounds like she is doing really well.

I know it's hard to not see her being 'normal' but be patient while her body heals, resting is the very best thing for her now.  Not only is she dealing with the meds but hoping on three is exhausting for new Tripawds.

Where are you located?  I'm in Livermore CA and we are surrounded by fires and the air quality is horrible!

Thanks everyone for the encouraging words. I’m thinking that patience is not one of my strengths. I know I wouldn’t be handling this situation with as much grace and courage as her.

Small victories. Last two nights Abbie wanted to sleep in our bedroom. My husband bless him slept on the floor and I actually slept in a bed! This morning while doing a few chores she came looking for me 🙂

Karen I live in Arnold CA and I can totally agree with the terrible air quality.

Yeah, patience was never my best thing either... all these dog journey's have certainly challenged and helped build my patience smiley4

Keep track of all those little victories- they add up and very soon your girl will be back.

Awwww, big win for Abbie!!! Its great to hear that shes getting back into her routine. Hubby gets brownie points for taking the floor 😉

Patience for us humans is so difficult, but no worries it sounds like Abbie has totally got this. I think it was 2ish weeks before we saw the "sparkle" really coming back. Lots of rest, love and celebrating all the little/big wins.

My sweet soulmate Roane was diagnosed with osteo in June of 2019. Had a rear leg amp on July 2nd & crossed the rainbow bridge to be with her sister Gypsy on the first day of Autumn Sept 23 2019.
