Best headline ever...so happy for you and your Ty! Agree with Sally that if it gets much worse before the a.m., then head to the emergency vet. The meds will work wonders whenever he gets them. Meanwhile, breathe and bask in the your wonderful news!

Deb and Angel Lexie* Diagnosed at age 13. Tried radiation first; wish we had amputated upon diagnosis (even with lung mets). Joined Club Tripawd April 2014 & Lexie loved life on 3 legs! Advice: Start physical therapy as soon as your vet clears it, especially hydrotherapy if available :-) See Lexie pics here.

Good morning

Just checking in and hoping that both you and Ty got some rest last night.

Did you go to the ER vet and get the meds?  Or did he settle a bit so you decided to wait?

Keep us updated on how things are going with the handsome Ty.

Many hugs

I did not wind up going down to ER vet last night. I know it sounds selfish, but with the extra of having the care of my nieces, I was just sooo tired last night. Should have gone, couldn't fall asleep. It is just a straight long drive on a road that is not a back road, but not really a highway. they call it a highway, but I am not sure I would. Anyhow, late at night, if you have no company, it is a real good road to fall asleep on. If I get in an accident, poor Ty is in trouble. I am the only one who knows med schedule, what and how he will eat etc. My husband does not seem real interested in learning. I think he is trying to distance himself so it wont hurt as much when the day eventually comes to let him go. His wound has started to actually split open. not sure if that is good or bad. OK You all will love this one. Me in my pain in the butt style, called the vets office and asked for not 1 but 2 email addresses where I could send a pic. of what this thing looked like. I then proceeded to upload the nastiest looking one of the 4 I took and sent it to them. I am sure they think I am a nutcase. There is probably a scramble if my # comes up on caller iD. .."you answer...no, you answer..no you answer"laughingOh well, ya do what ya gotta dosmiley

Good on ya!!

Kathi and Murphy

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

surgery tomorrow! Not exactly sure for what. He has some skin that is dead. You cannot realy see it because of his coloring. You can feel it though. That is the smell I guess I was smelling. That is what has cracked away form the rest and caused the splits I saw today. She says it is not behaving like an abcess. now I AM WORRIED AGAIN. aNYHOW FLUIDS toNIGHT AND THEN TOMORROW THEY ARE GOING TO CUT AWAY DEAD SKIN AND SEE EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THERE. Oooops sorry my cap lock was on . that is not angry typing. Depending on how much skin they have to cut away, they may let it open. He will be there until Friday. So many days he has had to spend awaysad He tried to go out the exit door at vets today when we were called back. was sort of funny, his tail was going crazy too. If there is a shiny side to this coin, I said to the vet, "We will get this solved and then he will get lung mets." She told me that studies have shown that dogs who develop post op infections have a better than average prognosis. Something about their immune systems. We will see. I will let you all know what they find tomorrow. I should have sent them the picture days ago. Although, it wasn't as nasty looking as today. I have to go tend to nurse Lucy. She has just come in from outside and I am smelling something else nowughPU she has rolled in something.

I'm glad Ty's tail was wagging with vigor as he tried to escape out the exit door.

Ahhhh, Nurse Lucy has been taking nutrition lessons from Happy Hannah! Miss Hannah needs to coach her in better table manners, though.

So happy to hear that there is progress with Ty

Shelby Lynne; Jack Russell/Shiba Inu mix. Proud member of the April Angels of 2014.

October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
