Well......hmmmmmmmmmm.......no lower, right?? Could it be possible..that Jill' "normal" on those tests is uniques to her? We all know she IS the MOST uniques cat on the planet! And so is her Mom!
I'm not saying it well. at all..........let's try again.....Jill's "normal range" may not fit into a "statistical chart" because it's not specific enough to her. She IS pretty cutting edge when it co es to all this and I doubt that "they" have enough I formation compiled yet for her fit nto a category. She's had such a "history" with this type of reading that it appears what's "normal" for her may of be what's "normal" for others.....maybe?
I would only admit this privately to friends who can keep a confidence................I actually "clicked onto your last sentence before I realized it was just computer cursing!!
Or else my typing skills have finally rubbed off on you. or you took some of that tramadol gabapentinmixture I talked about and that was the result!
When does she want to run the test again? Are there any supplements she can take?
HANGIN THERE........JILL SURE IS:-)
LOTS OF LOVE, Sally and Happy Hannah
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Salt! Good thinking, but no, these are not "normal jill numbers"
We have all her blood work up from last summer when the OSA first showed up on her toe and her toe was amputated and also from this past December pre-surgery.
Still waiting to hear from Dr. Ho Ho, I suspect she might just say, test again in two weeks but.....I really can't keep dropping 80 bucks every two weeks. It doesn't sound like a lot of money when its once in a while, but it starts to add up. Also, yes Jill is VERY VERY easy going, but I don't want to keep torturing her with this trip every 2 weeks. If it NEEDED to be done, then, yes, I would of course do it.
I'm just really frustrated.
Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. Are you kidding? 80 bucks IS a LOT of money! I would be frustrated too. Hopefully Dr. Hoho will have a good plan that you can live with without going insane. Let us know what she says.

How about maybe letting it go for a few more weeks not just 2, like 3 or 4. let jilly recover be a couch kitty and enjoy life for a little bit. Then fool that blood and test it. Jill it just shows you are still kicking Cancers ugly hiney and that chemo did and is still doing what its supposed to

Yeah Michelle--------not that it's my decision:-) ....but that sounds like a good idea too.-----depnding on what Dr. Who Ho says.....
And it seems her system is still actively eliminating the disease because the WBC is low and, as we all know--that's good!

OK, heard from Dr. Who Ho:
Since the white count, specifically neutrophils have stayed so low for so long after we stopped chemo, I went back and looked at bloodwork from before she even got chemo. She has always had a low normal count. A CBC was done twice before she ever got chemo, but the count is still lower than b4 chemo. This is not “normal” but I have seen it.
We have two choices.
- Wait
- Start metronomic, monitor closely and hope nothing bad happens.
We have been talking about metronomic Cytoxan. Is that what most Tripawds do? another option would be metronomic chlorambucil which is very easy on the bone marrow. Maybe we should talk with the compounding pharmacy and see what the price difference is. Both drugs are used metronomically in dogs and the drugs are cousins chemically speaking.
So. I think maybe we'll go and see what the pricing is for the chlorambucil (Leukeran). I asked her to get the prices and we'll go from there....................the thing is, we never would be talking about metronomics in the first place if I hadn't brought it up (again, Jill = cat = usually not even given IV chemo for OSA), I think this is new to both me and Dr. Who Ho. So Yes, it does seem like shes's asking MY medical opinion but I like the fact that she's asking what you guys around here do for your dogs

Drat. I saw your post to Dr Sue on FB. Boy, I hope you get a good answer soon. I know this is frustrating for so many reasons. DRAT DRAT DRAT!
ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ! No side effects. We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments. He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors! Our love. Our funny little guy!
You are such a good pawrent. I'm sure things will work out. Keep your chin up.
Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13. Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14. She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self. Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14
Jill, Jill, Jill - what to do!?!?!?!
Erica - hang in there. I know this means the chemo is working, but is there possibly some supplement out there that is safe for princess kitties that might build things up yet not work against the chemo? Just a thought.
Spirit Shooter was a Miniature Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed with a MCT and had a LF amp 1/28/13 at 13-1/2 years old.
Shooter crossed the Bridge on 8/28/13, his 7 month ampuversary and two weeks from his 14th birthday.
