Wow those are totally GREAT news 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I am thrilled for you and your lovely girl, she is really resilient and obviously  enjoys life to the full ❤️

As for chemo, Eurydice had 5 sessions of carboplatin so far every 3 weeks and is completing her 6th and final session next week.

We had zero side effects, she takes 1 Cerenia pill for nausea the morning of the day she gets chemo and 1 pill a day for the next 3 days.

Keep the good updates coming !

Sending you an avalanche of hugs and cuddles to your cutie pie ❤️🐾❤️🐾

Just ordered Otis a fan for my bedroom.  big-grin

Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016.  Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016.  Lung mets August 25, 2016.  Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016.   Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.

Wherever they are, they are together.

You articulated your thought processes very well! I know it will be helpful for anyone with big pups when considering amputation.

I, like you, felt like I had to "try" and give my Happy Hannah a "chance" at a pain free life, however long that may be. She was 125 lb Bull Mastiff at 8 1/2'yrs. Best decision ever!

Keep us posted!

Hugs!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

PS. Otis! Can't wait to see pictures of you in front of your fan!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Cay is so lucky to have such wise  humans.

It's so great she's getting around so well! We can't wait to see pics. Be extra careful with the squirrel treeing though...CCL ruptures are one of the most common injuries we see here (see this study) so guard those back legs extra carefully as she's building strength and out having fun.

WOW !!!!

That was the BEST update clapclap me and Eurydice are THRILLED for you both and Cayenne

Hurrahhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!!

Eurydice had 5 sessions of carboplatin (3 weeks apart) and will have her 6th (and last) next wednesday.

I give her 1 pill of Cerenia the morning of the day she has chemo and then 1 pill a day for the next 3 days.

Zero side effects so far, even her energy levels are the same.

When we discussed chemo, our oncologist said she would have 5 or 6 sessions, depending on how she reacted.

Talking about blood tests, she had one done before her first chemo and another 14 days after.

After that, they do a blood test before each session.

There is a pawrent here whose baby did 12 sessions of carboplatin during 1 year, I am very interested in getting more info on this because as Eurydice sailed through chemo so well I would be in favour of prolonging the treatment if it could be done.

Will discuss this with the onco on Wednesday.

Sending you an avalanche of hugs and cuddles to your gorgeous baby heart
