Geez, re-read my post, I was quite whiny! This is such a nothing burger compared to what everyone is dealing with on this site! The problem of handling a homecoming is a wonderful "problem" to have!!

You were not whiny. You were just worried as we all would be. You have 2 special needs dogs and with Myrtle being blind its a little more difficult to plan where she will walk and where she won't. Breathe deep my friend you have this. We will try to help you through as much as we can

Plans just don't seem to be staying the way they were planned and for that I am sorry. Every day Frankie is getting stronger and i know you want him to be the best he can be before he gets home.
I would say Benadryl, but if they fall asleep on you who's gonna carry them?!🤣
On the other hand you have 2 big fluffy pillows to sleep on, haha 😉
One thing we have in common is hard headedness (is that a word?) I know you will get through this, because i know you ❤️

Whiny? YOU? Sally! Oh my dog not at ALL. This is a lot to deal with and the more you share what's going on the better we can all help you. What you are dealing with is every Tripawd parent's worst nightmare and you are doing with such a great attitude. Plus, we are all learning from your experience so do not hesitate to share your feelings and the current status, got it?!
I do like the idea of taking Myrtle today for a quick reintroduction. And trazadone for both of them could be a viable option. Have you asked the vet?

It is amazing how the "obvious" seems to disappear when it is us. It is hard to breathe without being reminded when it is us. It was hard to remember that I was once a vet tech when it was Huck.
We will keep reminding you of how awesome you are Sally, and we will remind you to keep chocolate, treats, and wine stockpiled for your recovery days with Frankie.
Don't forget to breathe, and never forget your cheerleading squad is here for you 24-7.

FRANKIE COOL CHILL SUPER DAWG IS HOME!!! AND HE CANNOT STOP WAGGING!!! 😁 Nor can I, nor can Merry Myrtle!!😁
And every picture I took, and every video got all messed up (yes, operator error🤨) so I have none of the great reunionI I have none of him sliiping out of the Tech's grip RUNNING to the car and standing on his HIND legs trying to get in!!!
Okay, I have to tell you about the surprise attire, even though I don't have a picture yet. They finally put "it" on him today, as they were using that "other" harness up to now, which is great for two, or one strong person with a strong back. Nah, on second thought, I'm gonna wait for the reveal when I can get a pixture!!!😉
Oh, I did walk him down the ramp, knowing he had to poop and knowing he would only go in one spot...under the deck where I couldn't get to. So I let him go....sure enough... he headed to the spot, pooped, came back out and I got to walk him back up the ramp! Of course, more like RUN!!
The two of them are both sleeping. He's a very, very tired boy . Myrtle is even giving him some space and not piling up on top of him.
Have to go to work, so I'll update with good pics and video later. In my unprofessional opinion, he is doing really, really well, all things considered! The Vet thinks so too!
Your support and advice and encouragement have been INVALUABLE!!!! TRULY INVALUABLE!!! And yeah Jackie it's a little harder to "practice what we preach"!!

That is the best news ever!! Even though it was cut short, the days he had to have rest and limited activity made such a difference for you!! It sounds like he is going to rally right back and I am thrilled for you.

Eurydice 77kg/170lb Great Dane limping end of April 2016, amputation (right front leg/osteosarcoma) 4 May 2016 6 courses of carboplatin followed by metronomic therapy, lung mets found 30 Nov 2016. 3 courses of doxorubicin, PET scan 26 Jan 2017 showed more mets so stopped chemo. Holistic route April 2017. Lung X-ray 5 May 2017 showed several tennis ball size mets, started cortisone and diuretics. Miss Cow earned her XXL silver wings 12 June 2017, 13 months and 1 week after amputation and 6 1/2 months after lung mets, she was the goofiest dawg ever and is now happily flying from cloud to cloud woof woofing away :-)
