So glad things are going well...especially this early! And to sleep yhrough the night.....YAAAAAAAY!

Yeah, the ncisions can look quite "angry" t first with lots of bruising and discoloration and some swelling. "Dn't kw how he'd feel avout wearing a t-shirt over it.....this would be more for you than him... You can cut it down, tie it, etc. to make it work.

Loving these updates nd loving that you are now JUST "Dusty's Dad"!!

Oooh what great news! Now, you are correct; leave the cone on. Too many pawrents feel sorry for their patient, only to remove the cone and have to go back for re-suturing. Good job!

As for feeling bad about the incision; a cool t-shirt can cure that! Or a onsie baby-suit. Keep an eye on it to ensure there's no infection but we found that putting a nifty sweater on kind of breaks a pawrent into the idea of the missing limb.

Hang in there, you're doing great!

Sounds like Dusty is doing well!
I didn't have to deal to much with how the incision looked. Maggie was a rear amp and her incision was sort of under her belly, and she had darkish skin so the bruising was disguised. Of course I checked it frequently for suture integrity and to look for infection. It still took me awhile to get used to her new look. It may have taken me longer than a lot of people here because Mag seemed so unhappy for so long and I felt like I had made a mistake.
I like your new name too!

And if I may put on my moderator hat for a moment....you might think about starting a new topic in the 'Treatment, Recovery and Ongoing...' forum. I hope you are not feeling horrible anymore, and you can keep us posted on Dusty's progress. I think this came up earlier? Some members like to keep everything on one thread- it's up to you.
