No useful suggestions here, but your idea of the shorts with padding sounds good to me. The challenge obviously is something that protects, but doesn't rub or cause friction. I wonder if you could see in a leather insert to provide extra protection over the stump?
Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016. Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016. Lung mets August 25, 2016. Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016. Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.

I tell ya' what! That Izzi is a very loved doggy, and she knows it!! You are doing everything possible to keep her happy and maintaining a good quality life.
Yeah, as an older gal with all those previous issues with her rremaining leg, she's doing remarkable well! And every picture shows her smiling! You are doing such a good job at figuring out ways to help her navigate.
I have no idea how to do the configuration, but wonder if an athletic cup or jockey strap could somehow be reworked to cover her stump.
Do you have some more pictures of sweet Izzi you could post? She's such a cutie and she makes us smile! 🙂
Hugs!

Ditto the request for more pictures of sweet Izzy! Re protection, I would get in touch with these people http://www.dogl.....al-area-1/ I've had a quick look through and I can't see the precise thing Izzy needs, but they are extremely resourceful and inventive and if you describe the situation, they might well come up with something. The products are pricey, but they are great quality, and unlike many cheaper versions, they really do work. I used them pre Meg's amputation for protection of her infected elbow.
All best,

Thank you so much for the suggestions everyone. @megstamum that website has a ton of awesome things. I don't see anything that fits exactly what Izzi needs but I will definitely reach out to them and see if they have any ideas. @benny55 of course! I have a never ending supply of photos! She's actually been feeling good and had a lot of energy the past couple of days. She's been running around like a wild child. She just has her days... It's awesome to see her running around the back yard doing zoomies though. She's also getting a little more upper body strength and figuring out how to pull herself up onto the couch which has always been her favorite spot. I just keep a pile of dog beds and pillows along it so she can roll off onto a soft surface when she gets down 🙂
We broke out the tacky Christmas sweater last weekend for our walk. She was not impressed.
She came with us to my parent's house for Thanksgiving and was eager to assist in the kitchen I brought 3 of my dogs and they have 3 so we had a very full house. Their little black schnauzer also has cancer . She had a liver tumor the size of a lemon removed in 2015 and it recently came back and the cancer has metastasized to her lungs... So that has been tough.

Love that you had a great family gathering of humans and dogs for ThanksgIving! Your Mom's dogs are adorable too. Sorry to hear about the health challenges of ypthe little guy. He sure looks happy though. As you know, we jave a lot of dogs who get great extended quality time even after mets are discovered. We'll be sending

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
How did you get them all to pose so perfectly? Amazing. Glad Izzi is doing so well!

Hey all 🙂 just wanted to drop in and let everyone know Izzi is celebrating her 10th birthday this week! A year ago she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and we were told to expect only 6 more months with her. At the time, I didn't really know if this day would come. I have been truly blessed to have so much time with her and I hope I get so much more. She's such a strong brave girl and I'm so proud of how far she has come.
Hope you all are well!!!
Welcome back!
I'm so happy that Izzi gets to celebrate being 10 since her 9th birthday kind of sucked.
That white face is adorable, what a beautiful girl!
