Olie is a rare leg amputee, 8 month since amputation now. He has finally started to respond to clicker and food for treats so I decided to work on some tricks to build up some strenght and mobility. In time I will get wobbleboard and other gear but at the moment that is too advanced training for him.

I had in mind:

-walking backwards

-rear end awareness

and later on

-handstand

-squats

I`m wondering if you do something simillar, and your thoughts in general. I`m also interested in what do you guys think about crawl excercise?

So these days I´ve been working on rear end awareness, and its going pretty well. I noticed that it probably tires him because after a few repetitions he gives up and just lays down. So I keep excercises very short.

He has a problem with walking backwards. He just can´t do it. So I decided to leave it for now. Instead I started training him jumping over a broomstick laughing

Olie! Hey it's good to see you my friend!

I think the broomstick idea is great. Rehab vets gave us an idea once, to line up a bunch of sticks and walk back and forth over them. It's supposed to help with balance and stuff like that.

I get tired when I exercise too. A few minutes every day is all we need to look good. Well, I mean we look good without the exercise, but to get muscles, just short 5 minute exercise sessions are all we really need.

Hey let's see some pics!
