I have a three year old pomeranian named Max. He is my pride and joy! When he was about 9 months old, he skipped the last few steps of the stairs and tragically fractured his front left leg. He underwent surgery where he had a plate attached to try and heal the fracture and when the cast was removed and x-rays were done, we found out the bone had stopped growing. The only option left was to amputate. Even though that was the last thing we had expected, I couldn't be more happy with how well he actually gets around now!
Unfortunately now we have been dealing with frequent luxating patellas on both of his back legs, the left being more of the problem recently. I made an appointment with a local surgeon here in Louisiana to talk about the options. I'm VERY concerned that because he only has three legs that this surgery and the recovery will be very difficult. If anyone has any suggestions or has experienced the surgery with their tripawd, I would love some advice. Thank you!

Hi there! Thanks for joining us and registering, your future posts won't require moderation.
Luxating patella isn't an uncommon occurrence. I'm sorry you're going through this though, but as you can see from these posts, others have dealt with it in their tripawds:
