Hey guys, my boyfriend and I got the Gentle Leader leash for our front leg tripawd. At first she seemed to do fine with it and today when we took her for a walk she really fought against it. She even just laid down on the side walk in protest. This is very unusual behavior for her. Has anyone had experience with this? It seemed like it was hurting her.

My friend's four-legger pouted about it somewhat simiarly. He mostly tried to rub it off on the ground though, refusing to leave it alone, unless she bribed him with treats. Sometimes bribery works without having to use it forever - just enough to take their mind off of it until they're used to it and don't care anymore, if your dog is treat motivated.
I tried a gentle leader harness on my tripawd, Gerry, and he liked it ok and it helped with the pulling, unfortunately if a squirrel or something caught his attention and he lunged - it spun him in a circle and he fell hard. Now, Gerry is a rear legger, so you might not have that problem at all with a front legger, but I'd make sure to keep the receipt and that it can be returned if it doesn't work out.
Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.
He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.
