OMD Sally!  He looks a lot better!

And I think he is putting more weight on his leg than you think.  Look how much his tail flails around in the first video that you posted on Dec 19th.  I think that indicates how much effort he was putting into balancing on 2 legs.

Then in the video you just posted of him going up the ramp again.  Look how relatively calm his tail is. I think that indicates that he is using the third leg more and he is not working as hard to stay upright.

And Frankie has his own groupies!!!!

There is HUGE improvement! I can believe it's been 29 days already - although it probably seems like 129 days to you!  I bet it won't be long and he will be the same old Frankie, but new and improved. Soon this will all be a distant memory. What a great birthday present to see him getting better. Hugs and ice cream!

Oh Sally he looks WONDERFUL! He is doing so well, I know now that he is using that leg more you must be so relieved! No doubt that is taking some of the pressure off his good legs, even his balance looks better. I could surely use some of that rehab too.. on the lower back, lol. He looks like his happy self, never heard even the idea of a howl or a cry, lots of progress heart

lots of love and hugs,

Oh wow! I didn't think he was doing THAT much better! That's great, Sally!!

Definitely putting weight on that leg and it seems that it'll only take a few more good experiences for him to be using it fully.

Fantastic news!! I'm sure that's a huge relief even if it was gradual progress. I'm so happy for you!!

Hugs

Wow Sally, that is a huge improvement over the earlier video.  Frankie is definitely making strides forward fast!  I bet his do it Frankie's way has a big part in it.  Because it and is obvious to everyone that he has the zest and drive to get past this.  Of course it could just be the treats and ice cream.  He is getting lots of that, yes?

You mentioned laser treatments.  Tuxedo had several of those and I really think they sped up his healing.  One thing I know is Tuxedo always seemed to be relaxed after them, which given his wild child nature was huge.  Hopefully they are both speeding up the healing and easing some of the pain for Frankie!   I am sure that with a bit more time, Frankie will be back to his old self.  He is already looking very good.  And ditto for the massages, I think we all need some of that!

Hugs,

Sally,

I agree with Karen.  I think he is putting more weight on that leg than what you think.  He is looking great.  🙂   I am so glad this rehab is helping him and you.  🙂   Keep going Frankie.

WOO-HOO! You go Frankie! sure looks to me like he's putting some weight on that leg, at least intermittently. Looks like he's definitely doing great - hooray for rehab (and laser and massage and loops and ice cream!)

Hang in there Sally, progress is being made.

But mostly Frankie is the coolest ROCKSTAR of ALL!  clapclap

Okay Frankie's cheering squad, here we are 39 days after surgery and ten Rehab  visits later!!

I'm gonna post the Youtube videos in a other post below, but just wanted to put his PROGRESS in writing first.

The laaer therapy, the Rehab exercise  that Dr Weedle does, her sharp eye observation of what he needs and when he needs it,  are all INVALUABLE therapies that are truly a MiRACLE for Frankie!!  I do have to chuckle though, because  she did have to reluctw accept thst there were just some things Frankie is going to do his way...period...end of story!! 🙂

I kmow I've said it before, but we had the right person at the right time with the right knowledge show up when, I hate to admit, I was feeling kinda' hopeless.   Progress could NEVER, EVER have happened without this incredible gift of having this at home therapy.heart

Frankie greets her  now, hed immediately goes to his bed and lays down because he knows she starts off with massage and laser.  He looooves them both!!!way-cool

Frankie's happy joyous attitude and strong will are front and center again! 🙂   Dr Weedle observed that he's feeling good enough now to do "something stupid",'so I still need to monitor him carefully.   And he does still tire very easily, especially after his sessions, so that makes him "behave" in a little more controlled way.  Of course, he's baxk to counter surfing!  🙂  Good boy!!   Er....er...I mean...BAD BOY!

Dr Weedle understands these sessions were an unbelievable gift to Frankie due to THE MOST COMPASSIONATE AND CARING PEOPLE on this Planet and can not go on forever!   At her suggestion, and knowing it's kind of an either/or situation pretty soon now, she's thinks he's ready to try some underwater treadmill work.  She thinks he can really benefit at this point.

So she's coming out Thursday, as she wanted to see a little more peogress first and then I'm going to do one treadmill wwter therapy to see how he reacts.  If he responds well, I should be able to do a couple more.  Ohhhhmyyyyy!  It's going to be such a great video!! 🙂

The treadmill is done at the place Frankie spent his first night after surgery.  It's also the place Frankie spend four days recovering from his rimadyl binge.   They now have a Rehb person who will be doing this.  Not all the certifications at all that I would like to see, but I'll give it a try.

I guess the best way I can describe his progress is, he's at least (and definitely) better than where  he was before the surgery and before he had the complete tear (as opposed to it being in the process)!!   DEFINITELY putting more and more pressure on it.  Still holds his leg out to the side and that's where she thinks the treadmill will help.  And while this is a joint issue, he was definitely having a lot of miscle wasting on that leg.  It got really, really, really bony.  I can see muscle rone improving fairly rapidly now.

Thank you ALL again so much!  I k ow each of you have your own challenges on so many different levels.  Yet, here you are, continuing to send your love and contagious positive attitude to us!  Youll never know how much that has helped us! 🙂

With gratitude for giving Frankie a chance to be Frankie again!

Don't blink or you'll miss it.  As Karen pointed out in an earlier post, Frankie,'s tail is used for wagging now as opposed to making crvles for balance
