I have the Ruffwear Webmaster , and I like it a lot. However, I didn't use it as much as I should be because Riot has to be laying down, and then get up, to get it on. It's also too warm for him to wear it full time. I'm hoping the new harness that we just ordered will get us that much closer to him being able to go up stairs again. Plus, it'll be easier for vet techs. Riot has anesthesia next week for his scans. You should have seen the interesting way the Webmaster was put back on him by them. Plus, we'll still have the Webmaster as he ages and needs extra support again. My other dog is a 120+ pound Rottie/GSD. I'm sure we'll get use out of both harnesses some day.

We had the chance to work with Ruffwear when it was in development over a year ago, it was such a treat! The moment we saw the design we knew it was going to be a total game-changer for assisting Tripawd dogs. And it IS! This day for its release has been a long time coming.
As you noticed it's like a Webmaster "Lite," with the support you need but with slightly less coverage on the body design. It still runs the same length as the Webmaster but the width isn't as large (see the Flagline harness review for a side-by-side comparison if you missed it).
You'll have to let us know how it works for Riot. We can't wait to see him in it. Thanks again for shopping with us.

So far, Riot and I really like the harness. I'll post more after we've used it for a while. If a dog needs more support, I'd still suggest the Webmaster with Brushguard, but the Flagline is great for where we're at right now. He can wear it all day.

Can anyone tell me what size the rear straps of the Flagline and/or the Webmaster are? Sizing seems to be measured by the front straps only. My dobe is not only barrel chested but a bit overweight, so I am having difficulty finding something that fits him. (He was about 110 pre-surgery I think).

I'll measure them once I get home. I think you should be fine. Riot is a big dog, and the straps definitely have extra room to go on him. I doubt they'd fit the largest dogs, like Leonbergers, some Newfoundlands, etc.
Scott, what is your dog's girth measurement? This is the widest part of the rib cage. No manufacturer that we carry goes by weight or the dog's belly measurement, unless your'e getting a Custom Pet Support Suit which might be what Zig needs. You can get a shoulder strap for it, which gives you leverage to pick him up using your body weight. See:

Have you tried the Webmaster Plus on him? There are many large breeds these two harnesses fit, including Rotties, Danes and Malamutes.

I didn't measure it officially, but I'm sure it'll fit your dog. I tried it on my very barrel chested Rottie/GSD, and it fit him. I got the L/XL.
So for my own information I wanted to find out if rear straps are the same as the front and yes, they are. This means that a dog can be 42" around in front or rear to be able to wear this harness, as well as the Ruffwear Webmaster Plus.
Considering that our German Shepherd Wyatt Ray is 32" around the rear strap area, that would mean that a 42" dog would be an exceptionally large giant breed, like a Mal, Newfie or other similar breed.
Scott it would help to take a measurement around your dog's abdomen (the bottom of the ribcage) to see if this would work.
